    chimney rebuilds and tuckpointing

We had an addition done in 2008 which included a new brick corner, a new window and a replacement to an existing window. Our house is a heritage property, built in 1902, and QR found new bricks that matched the existing ones perfectly. Both the new window and the replacement window with their limestone sills suit the heritage nature of the house and the resulting addition looks as though it has been part of the house for years. We have used QR for several renovation projects, both exterior and interior, and have always been impressed with their quality and workmanship. All aspects of the job, from quotes to scheduling to response time, are very professional. I recommend them highly.

Thanks so much Ellen for the good review - it has always been a pleasure working for you folks and we'd love to go back, though with the roof and eavestroughs recently done and the new decks installed and the old ones repaired we have pretty much run out of things to do! I'm sure you'll think of something creative though... :)

    Brick cleaning and tuckpointing

We had the front of the house done in 1999 and were so pleased that there was no doubt that we’d have QR do the work when we decided six years later to do the rest of the house. We were very glad to see that the workers were the same ones who had done the previous job - always a good sign. All elements of the work were well done: removing the old vines, patching, matching the new mortar to the old, and protecting the plants. The work was all done in the promised time frame, with thorough clean-up. We liked also that they explained what they were doing and why, and identified the materials that they were using. We recommend QR most highly.

    Replacement of 2 chimnies

I've had many dealings over the years with Quality Restorations and we know we can rely on their crew to deliver quality, high standards work. I highly recommend their services as I know that Quality Restorations will not fail in their delivery. I should also add that commitment to service is a key priority of the company.

    Restoring and Tuckpointing Waterdamaged Brick

Brick along a prominent lower part of the brick side wall had degenerated from rainwater splashing up from the walkway. Doug Pearse of Quality Restorations diagnosed the problem, and brought in a person who not only had the period skills but the sources for matching brick. Now you would hardly know this was not original. Quality Restorations also repaired damage to our slate roof, and built a wall and door around the third floor stairs to give our daughter her own space. In all this the work was very good, fairly priced and timely. I would rely on him in future.

Rebuilt chimney from above roof line.

Work was done about three years ago. No issues at all. The work was done as and when promised. The workmanship was so good that the next year when I was having my roof re-shingled, the roofers asked me who did the chimney. When I told them it was QR, they said they could tell by the quality. Highly recommended.

    Chimney Rebuild

We were getting our roof re-done and discovered that the chimney needed to be replaced. We were referred to Doug by the roofing company. Doug was thorough and very knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions about our chiminey and fireplace. His customer service skills made such a lasting impression on us that we hired him and his team again for a much bigger job about 3 yrs later.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Asha - the house looks so much better with all that white paint stripped off and the tuckpointing done.

    Chimney rebuild and tuckpointing

Doug Pearse and Quality Restorations were terrific. The estimate was done quickly and the price range was competitive. The work was completed within two weeks of the estimate and the end result was excellent. They do all kinds of home renovation work and I would definitely use them again.

Rebuilding upper part + liner of deteriorated chimney

While investigating a problem with an old skylight this fall (2009 - also fixed by Quality Restorations), we noticed that the mortar in the upper portion of the chimney on our 1905 house was badly deteriorated. Quality Restorations erected scaffold, dismantled the bad bit and found the liner was perforated. They quickly obtained a replacement and finished off the job, leaving the surrounding area cleaner than when they came. The finished job is neatly done; I never expected new brick to be a perfect match for 100-yr-old brick, but this is a surprisingly good match for the original. We are very happy and can confidently recommend QR's services.

Thanks David, We'll see you soon for the new cedar deck - sure hope this good weather keeps up! Doug
