    These guys are awesome

Amazing service, from start to finish these guys were professionals. Can’t thank them enough for all they did. Our doors to our front are so important and such a feature piece that we needed something that worked. They helped us and I’m so happy for it! In the spring we are using them for our back doors!

The worst - I had to completely replace my door.

I got a custome door system with glass and glass sidelights from the Door Centre 10 years ago. We had nothing but problems with it from day one. They came and fixed the issues 4 times within 6 months of installing it and then they told me that they would not come out anymore. I should have sued them. Over the next 10 years I had to have other contractors come and fix the problems that eventually recurred, I replaced the door hardware once and finally, the problem was no longer fixable and the door had to be replaced. The contractor who installed the new door said that they had not sllowed the silicone to cure and the glass had shifted in the frame making it out of Square and that the installation didn't use enough insulation and was put in incorrectly. They took no pride in their work and did not stand behind it. I strongly recommend that you steer clear. I have done many home renovations - this is the only company that I feel compelled to review in this fashion. I'm not high maintenance - I just expected them to do a good job.

Hello Susanne, I am very sorry for your issues you had with your door. As the service manager for the past 16 years at The Burlington Door Centre, I do not remember an issue like yours. There are many door and window companies that sound familiar in Burlington and I want to make sure you reviewed the correct company. If you removed a steel door from your house, it was most likely not The Burlington Door Centre as we have been selling only Fiberglass doors for the past 14 years. All of our fiberglass door systems have a 20-year warranty and therefore would have fixed any issues you would have had. Please feel free to call me at 905-333-4044 to discuss. Kindest Regards, Derrick Block

    Front and rear door replacement

We had an excellent experience start to finish. Rick helped us in the store, helping us to pick out beautiful doors in the price range we wanted. The installation team was friendly, competent and professional. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up thoroughly when done. We absolutely love our new doors. What a difference they have made to the appearance of our home, inside and out! We replaced our front door and rear French doors. Highly recommend! Not sure why it reports location as Waterford. We're in Caledonia.

    double french doors

Definitely not a good experience overall. The sales experience was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. They were glad to take my money, however the post sales experience was terrible. 2 major problems. First, upon door order I was quoted a 2 week delivery time however doors did not arrive until 5 weeks. No real responsibility taken other then to pass the blame to the door manufacture. Secondly, when the doors arrived, the frame they supplied did not fit into my roughed in opening. The frame width was 58.25 inches however they told me upfront to rough in a 58 inch opening as I ordered 2 26 inch French doors. This wouldn’t have been a big deal if the doors had arrived on time as I was still at the framing stage however since they were 3 weeks late I had already finished the drywall, mudding and painting as I could not hold up the project for the late doors. When I called them to discuss it, Rick ( I think that was his name) took zero responsibility for the problem and essentially told me ‘tough luck’. When I pushed it further and told him that I had built the framing to EXACTLY their dimensions, Rick told me it was my fault for not giving extra space and that if I wanted to avoid this problem I should have hired a contractor to do the work. I suggested to him that he send someone down to fix up the problem but he would not do that and said he would not spend any money to fix this problem. When I suggested he take the doors back and order smaller doors that would fit he said he would not do that because he would be stuck with the doors and out of pocket. The call ended with me telling him that I was going to post my experience to the internet so all could read it and he then threatened to sue me if I did. I would not suggest doing business with this company. I had planned to buy and have them install a very nice extra wide front doorway and glass in the spring (probably $6K) but obviously that wont happen now. In retrospect I assume that they probably didn’t account for the ½ inch wooden divider between the 2 french doors (not sure what its called) when they gave me the sizes to frame in. Sounds like something pretty straight forward for someone in the door and window industry. To fix my problem I needed to rip the drywall down and cut out the stud on the one side of the doorway and move it over, re-drywall, remud and repaint. Ugh.

Hello Kevin, I would like to offer an apology for the miss communication in sizes. As a door and window company, we only give the frame size of the products we offer if we are not doing the install. Since it was a supply only order and with that you do receive a "contractor discount", the customer is responsible for all sizes (Spacing Tolerances) and preparation. We cannot take responsibility for the work we have not done as well as any manufacture delays which is out of our control as stated on our contract. I hope you can understand this as it would be industry wide. Kindest Regards, Derrick Block - Owner

    Window replacement

We had them replace all of our windows on our house, which was a lot. They made great design recommendations, had a great price and service was excellent. Highly recommended.

    door

Went into the Door Center in Burlington after being at the Oakville Home Show. Advertised sale prices. Went in for quote on a fiberglass door with wood grain. Would not give me a price unless I went to the store. The price was very high for a fiberglass door. The service was questionable, as there were 2 in the office, I was the only customer, but they stayed on the phone.

    Answer from pro:

Hello, I would like to apologize for the experience you received at our showroom. When it comes to giving prices, we do often give ballpark prices for our door systems. Just like cars, doors come with plenty of options which affect pricing. The reason we asked you to come into the showroom was to take a look at all the options so that we can give you an exact price. When it comes to pricing, we happen to be very competitive in the market which has allowed us to be in business for over 30 years. And please understand that whether you come to our showroom in person or call our phone number, a customer is a customer and we take the time with both in order of who calls or who walks in the door. Kindest Regards, Derrick Block - Owner
