    Good assessment, but rude.

Had my home assessed quite soon after I moved in because I was worried that several parts were not to code (a lot was still under warrantee. The guy came and gave a very thorough review, but his manner was very brash and he talked down to me constantly (likely due to my gender it seemed). I was put off at the time, but happy with the paperwork.

Home inspection of House to buy

Honestly I was very dissatisfied. The only reason why I gave any stars was he was very thorough and friendly. But a few things bothered me. He clearly works closely with the real estate agent they know each other by name. He also mentioned he inspected this house before (approx. 1 month ago) but deal had not gone through. I would expect Pillar to Post then to send someone different so they have fresh eyes. He was a very generic home inspector. The biggest issue was we had a roof inspector see the roof 2 days prior and noticed major deterioration with the roof, holes in it and some spots the shingles were torn showing the underlay underneath. It was recommended to replace the roof immediately. We mentioned this to him so he didn't end up inspecting the roof. Even though he said it was in great shape. Anyways at the end of the inspection on the way out we noticed he had the ladder out and was looking at the roof over the garage and told us again it was in great shape. My husband who is in the housing industry and knows inspection very well got on the ladder and noticed the shingles were very brittle and cracking. And the inspector said this is normal and still a good roof. I just couldn't believe this. The fact he did this after the inspection with the real estate agent around baffles me. It makes me wonder if he intentionally did this to try to make it seem unreasonable for us to mention the deterioration of the roof to the owner. Especially since we have cold hard proof from the roof inspector with pictures proving otherwise. The major damage was on the second story roof not above the garage. So clearly a home inspector does not look at that. We would never use them again as they seem biased and quite frankly not worth the money for what we get. Yes he was thorough and spent 2 1/2 hours at the house but in this case something didn't seem right.

    Home Inspection

I'm really happy with Pillar to Post. The report was detailed and Troy mentioned a lot of little details about the home I wouldn't have thought of doing. Troy was really knowledgeable about a lot of areas. He clearly knew what he was doing. The inspection went well and that has affected my decision. This is my second inspection with Pillar to Post and last time was great also.

    Home Inspection

The inspector showed up on time, was very thorough and professional. The inspector gave some good advice and pointed out potential problems with the house that I wouldn't have picked up on.

    House Inspection

We had just bought our first house. It was January and snow was everywhere. We were nervous to boot, with no experience of houses. Richard from Pillar to Post showed up exactly on time. He climbed up the ladder to look at the roof in the cold, trudged around the house to examine parging, and inside the house, took us around to every nook and cranny - all the while explaining what he was looking for and why. When we finished, he printed off his report to us right away from a printer he had brought along. Along with that we got a book full of homeowner information along with a manual (that we still refer to) where it lists all the average costs of typical repairs. We really liked Richard, and feel their materials were worthwhile. I don't think they are cheapest inspector out there, but you do get what you pay for. We were glad we went with Pillar to Post, and glad that it was Richard who helped us.

    Home Inspection

The inspector that we had was very professional and very complete with the service provided. Everything that was promised was delivered on in the end. During the inspection he gave good advise for slight problem areas of the home and how we could correct them, as well as very friendly and easy to get along with.

    Home Inspection

Fabulous quick service, was able to have them come out to the home we were purchasing with about 6 hours notice. Very thorough job, very friendly and provided us with a huge binder all about the home we were purchasing as soon as the job was done

    Home Inspection

This company was very professional and had top of the line equipment to do a thorough and organized inspection. We were given a binder with pictures of every aspect of the house and they even provided us with coupons for energy saving products.

    Home Inspection

My real estate agent referred him for a really fast inspection - within a day! He covered everything, and I mean everything! Afterwards when I needed the roof fixed, I called them back and they gave me names of good companies to come do it for me. Personable to work with. I would recommend them to anyone!

    Basic Home Inspection

This was our first time buying a home, and at the time we thought our inspector was FABULOUS. He pointed out very minor things about the house (nothing to really worry about). But now after owning the house for a few months we are coming across things that were in plain sight that were not caught or omitted (water damage, mold, etc.) We wished that the home inspector paid more attention to detail as it could have saved us a ton of headaches and money down the road. They were very friendly and informative overall.
