The measure of a good company is how they respond to clients when things dont go as planned under the written contract. West York Paving failed in this measure. We hired West York Paving to replace the asphalt on our wide mutual driveway in mid-town Toronto. The contract included a specific written guarantee that the grading would slope water away from our house. The work was completed in early August 2021 and after the first heavy rainfall a few weeks later, we noticed that the water was collecting and running off towards our house. This also happened during a second rainstorm. We called the company to discuss this and followed up by email. Frank (one of the co-owners, we believe) and a worker inspected the asphalt and Frank told us that it was not sloped properly away from the house. In fact, it was sloped to drain water from our neighbours side of the drive onto our side, rather than into the middle of the mutual driveway. Frank told us he would get back to us after he spoke with his brother Joe (also a co-owner, we believe). No one called us back. We later telephoned the company and Joe told us there was no problem with the workmanship and there was nothing they could do. He raised his voice, yelled at us and then hung up on us. West York Paving later failed to respond to our registered letter, in which we requested a refund for failure to honour its contractual guarantee. We have never had a contractor refuse to at least make some effort to remedy their defective work and honour their written guarantee. We hired another company to completely re-do the work, which involved digging out all the new asphalt. This other company did a great job, used smaller rollers and hand-finished all the asphalt to ensure the asphalt was properly sloped and graded into the middle of the driveway. They took the time to explain to us beforehand the additional steps to consider in order to pave our wide mutual driveway something West York Paving had not bothered to do. We had an extremely poor experience with a contractor that has no interest in responding to its customers concerns.

West Work Paving is an extremely good and professional company in its field. They removed the old asphalt by digging out more than 30cm down and placed crushed stones to properly settle and also removed the driveway side curb. Thus, they laid a solid foundation for the asphalt. We agreed in advance for them when to come back and after two months, when they came, they installed the new curbs, and several days later, they made the paved the driveway by laying two thick layers of asphalt. The Driveway looks great. I am impressed with the work of West Work Paving, Joe, Frank and their team. Especially Frank is like a magician - works super professional and quick. Just Excellent work.

The first thing I would like to say is what a wonderful crew! Very well organized, efficient, quick, kind and respectful! Remo was very professional, straight up and courteous. They were on time, mindful of the neighbours and didnt leave a mess. They did everything I wanted and took the the time to explain things if I didnt understand. If you are thinking about retaining West York Paving, theres nothing to think about just go ahead and do it. You will not be disappointed!

I was so happy with the work West York did at my last house a few years back that when my current house needed the asphalt driveway replaced West York was my first and only choice. West York has earned their reputation by providing only the best quality and workmanship for a fair price. Other then having a brand new asphalt driveway you would never have known they were there, my property out front is cleaner now then before they arrived. If you have never seen the West York fleet of dump trucks, pick up trucks and asphalt machines they are impeccably clean and shiny like the day they rolled off the assembly line that to me says alot about the work that they do. If someone or company doesn't respect their own property how can you expect them to respect your property. West York is not a fly by night asphalt company. The whole project is clearly explained as to what you will be getting in regards to the gravel base the quality and quantity of asphalt being used. Nothing is left to guesswork or hearing the phrase "I never said I would do that". If I ever need another driveway or someone I know needs a driveway or parking lot done West York get full recommendation and approval. Thanks you West York for another quality job.

I booked with Joe for my asphalt driveway paving, my driveway need removal of the old asphalt and extend a little, and there is a tree stump need cleaning. Joe came 2 times for the detailed quotation, and gave me a very fair price. They had the most newest paving trucks, so cool and efficient. All the stuffs from West York are professional and nice. We had coffee together and they explained to me lots of knowledge. Now my driveway is most fantastic one in the neighborhood, one of my neighbor booked with Joe at once when he saw the masterpiece work! Thanks a lot, Joe and all your West York Team! Definitely, me and my friends will work with you soon after!

Contacted York West for a quote in April and Joe came by a couple of days later and measured the driveway and provided a competitive quote. Joe gave us a completion by June. West York came 3 different times 1) remove old pavement - great job. 2) put in a border - great job. 3) the re-paving done in June as promised. Staff was friendly and efficient and no mess left behind. Would highly recommend.

Joe and his crew were fantastic! They removed the old asphalt and returned a few weeks later to install the new asphalt. They were all very professional from start to finish. They even cleaned the sidewalk before they left! Their trucks are sparkling clean and they did all this work on one of the hottest days of the summer. West York Paving is a top notch group of true gentlemen.
