I worked with DM foundation's team recently for the enlargement of a window opening in the basement. Dave, Jesse, and the team communicated very well and efficiently and kindly answered all my technical and non-technical questions before, during, and after the work was done. They coordinated with the city inspector and documented the work for the post-inspection. They were professional, respectful, patient, tidy and did a great job. It was a pleasure to work with such a fantastic team.

Dave and his crew did a thoroughly professional job repairing cracks to my foundation. Of the three estimates I received, Dave's was the most reasonable and Dave was excellent about communicating what was required to fix the problem correctly. He suggested a couple of options on the structural repair in order to save me some money. In the end we went with Fortress Systems Kevlar\Carbon fiber straps to support the structure on the inside, and a thorough waterproofing on the outside. The latter include trenching the perimeter, adding weeping tile, a rubberize coating on the exterior walls, platon membrane and then 2" Styrofoam insulation. They then refilled the trench with crushed stone, topped off with decorative riverstone. Also, they replaced patio pavers and added topsoil for the lawn to return the site to its original condition (or better). Dave and his crew started the job on schedule and stayed with it until it was completed. As the supervisor Dave was constantly onsite to oversee the quality of the work. In sum, having to fix your foundation is costly and massively disappointing, but if you have to go through it, Dave Marcotte Foundations does the work competently and at a reasonable cost. I have recommended them to friends and neighbours without hesitation.

Dave and his crew arrived on site right on time. And things were all up hill from there. The job involved significant repairs to the cinder block foundation of our home. One large wall and two smaller walls were completely rebuilt. And two additonal walls were repaired and water-proofed. I was on site for most of the work. The guys were all friendly, respectful and hard working. Dave, the boss, was always there supervising and leading the effort. I had many questions and all were answered to my satisfaction - confidently and clearly. As can be imagined, on a job this large, with the damaged walls mostly under the surface, unexpected issues arose. Fortunately for us, Dave's experience and ingenuity meant that the positive suprises out-weighed the negative, and the final invoice was slightly (percentage wise) lower than the original agreement. So I would not hesitate to recommend Dave Marcotte Foundations or to call on Dave and his crew (Shane, George and the others) again. Although, that is a call I hope I won't neeed to make!

We found water seeping through the front wall of our 43 year old block basement. After discussing with Dave Marcotte it was decided the proper remedy was to excavate the front wall to the footing, apply a rubberized coating, a "platon" membrane, new drain tile and backfill with 3/4" stone. 2" styrofoam was also added to give better frost protection. To do this work meant removing and replacing a considerable amount of interlocking stone. Dave and his workers showed up right on time and worked steadily even though the weather was very hot. The job was completed in 2.5 days, including replacing the interlocking stone and a thorough cleanup of the area! My wife and I were amazed at how efficiently things were done. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dave to anyone needing foundation work. Thanks again Dave, Greg and Shane.

We hired Dave and his team to lower the basement in our older home to make it a more usable space. They did an excellent job and were a pleasure to work with. They handled a few hiccups along the way like removing the chimney and replacing the main beam in the basement with a high level of professionalism and skill. Dave is one of the very few contractors I would consider hiring again in the future!

We recently had some water come in our basement for the first time in our 120+ year old home. We called DM foundations and Dave came within 48 hours and we explained what we witnessed as we had also noticed water over the sewer and storm back water valve. He kindly answered all of our questions suggesting that we do this in steps. He was very thorough, meticulous, and provided expert advice leaving everything very tidy after each step. The last step we did was a pit test since we had no idea if our old house had been waterproofed. This guy makes a living waterproofing houses and he honestly told us that we didnt need anything more than what we already had and that the issue had nothing to do with our foundation. He gave us a detailed report which really helped with our insurance which we were very grateful for.
