We experienced a sewer back up and ended up with about a foot of water and other !@# stuff in our basement as a result of the August 4th GTA storm. Some parts of Lakeshore Blvd in Etobicoke were closed due to 2 - 3 feet of water on the roadway. I called the Insurance company as I was lucky enough to have sewer back up coverage. I found out that there was a website for the city of Toronto that detailed a Mainline Backflow Valve. The City of Toronto rebates homeowners $ 1250.00 for this valve if you have it installed by a certified installer which Public Plumbing is. This valve when installed will not allow any back flow into our house via the city sewer line. Its also a Canadian Patented product!! http://www.backwatervalve.com/ I called the company and was referred to Chauncey Builders Supply. http://chauncey.net/ I contacted Chauncey and they recommended Public Plumbing as they had expert knowledge of the product and installation which was evident after meeting with Naz and Walter. I have to say that Public Plumbing called back within the hour after I left a voicemail message, despite the two other plumbers that I called who have yet to even call back now!! Well I wasn't sure what to expect at first, but I was pleasently surprised with all aspects of the work performed. Public Plumbing returned my call within the hour, showed up at the time given, completed all work without interruption and/or delay, respected my home/walkway/driveway by laying down drop cloths through all areas they accessed through, used equipment and methods that impressed me (I have Engineering background), and provided services and material at a cost which was very reasonable (I checked with other plumbers after the fact and they were still about 20 - 35 % below rough qoutes. I would not hesitate to recommend Public Plumbing to my family and friends and now to those who happen to read this review. They truly met and exceeded my expectations. All work was completed before agreed upon date and it is impossible to tell that a major sewer removal and installation was perfomed. The crew that was here sometimes stayed until 7 pm after starting at 8 am that day to complete what was committed to. They truly keep to thier word which impressed me. How many firms can you trust to keep thier word without having all details in writing. All agreements except for the qoutation were on a handshake and Public Plumbing kept all promises. They even put top soil over the location outside my home where a pit had to be dug. Now my wife wants a flower bed made LOL, work for me now. So if you are need of a reputable plumber who is equiped with the latest plumbing technology, give Public Plumbing a call as they are certainly interested in thier reputation. My doing laundry upstairs caused my tenants bathroom in the basement to flood... I called Public Plumbing after a search on the Internet... Mike arrived promptly the next day. Using some very sophisticated machinery and a camera, he was able to see that a section of clay piping had come apart, shifted and was almost completely plugged with tree roots... He was going to have to break through the tile, the concrete, dig out the clay pipe and replace it with a new proper pipe... a crew of 3 men arrived the next day... They started the work immediately, laying down tarps to protect carpets and flooring. Buckets of dirt and tiles were taken out efficiently and carefully. They put in 4" PVC, tying it into the newer renovations, back-filled the dirt and cemented the floor, preparing it for re-tiling... They were careful to make sure the cement was at the right level to accommodate the tile... All in all the work was done thoughtfully and well. I am very happy with the work. Mike cleaned out two drain lines to the street and found covers for the two clean out valves in my lawn. I would definitely recommend Public Plumbing and will call them for any future plumbing needs and renovations.

They came to my house by recommendation of Drainscope plumbing in Woodbridge, diagnosed and set a date to start the repair. They showed up early, ready to work and had the repair done fast, clean and efficiently. They laid down sheets so my floor wouldn't get dirty and stratched up, showed me what the cause of the problem was, cleaned up all mess made before and after the repair and came to finish off the concrete work and never left a trace. I recommend these contractors to anyone in need of quality, professional and extremely clean group of workers.

Mike and Walter are great. They are real partners giving you options and pricing while also making you aware of building code. They are fast, courteous, & reliable. They also super available for questions.

The day my wife and I were to leave on our honeymoon, our sewer drain backed up all over our basement. Within 2 hours Vlad showed up and assessed the problem and assured us that our house would be safe while we were gone. Upon return, Vlad and his team showed up and replaced the damaged sewer drain from the stack to the property line. A messy job done well and cleanly. Thank you Public Plumbing and Vlad for your excellent service. Not being familiar with plumbing, it's definitely nice to find individuals that understand the problems, and won't take advantage of you.

This year our valve was leaking for the outside tap and I wasn't sure what to do. Naz provided Excellent prompt service, no mess left behind and a very professional job. I would recommend these guys anytime.

We had some water leakage into the basement, Public came and did great drain work, and installed all the new stuff we needed. Now our basement is dry, and we rest assured there won't be more leaks in that spot. They were clean and staff was friendly.

Public Plumbing, installed a toilet, shower and sink rough in, in my basement and moved my current laundry tub from one wall to another. They finished the job in two days like they said they would. The the whole experience was stress free. Naz and his crew did a great job and where very clean, professional and respectful of my home.

I was thoroughly impressed with those I dealt with. I met with Mike for an initial consultation and estimate. Their estimate was very reasonable and Mike was very knowledgeable, friendly and provided me with all the options I had available to me. We had a clogged pipe under our basement floor that led from the kitchen. Over years and previous ownerships the pipe was badly clogged. We had another company snake it but that didn't do much. Mike and his team (Yuri and another (sorry don't recall his name) were excellent. Yuri and his partner did the drilling, digging and replacing and were great and timely. They replaced 8 feet of pipe and added a 4 inch opening for future scoping and possible cleaning (although I don't think that will need to be done after this as they did a great job). They cemented the floor again and left it as clean and debris free as much as possible and would be expected. Mike came back to scope the pipe (camera) and all had to do a bit more snaking for a clog that was even more deeper in. He cleared it up and then put in the camera again to ensure all was clear. I have already recommended Mike to others and would do the same again. It's not always easy to find a good, reliable and reasonable plumbing service - but I found all three in one.
