    Quick and easy drain cleaning

Drain was clogged up by something, pretty old house so we couldn't be sure what. Piper was able to come out and quickly take care of the problem. Really happy with the service, as it was able to get rid of a funky smell coming from the sink.

    Sump Pit Install

Poor workmanship with the piping (ie. drilling excessively large hole through wall and also crooked pipe exit) and drilling holes all through the sump pit/ tank which is not needed unless there is water issues under the slab (which I dont have). Why drill holes in the pit, especially near the bottom of the pit? So water from the weeping tile can go into the pit and then go OUT through the holes and under your concrete floor?? Doesn't make sense. Do your plumbers know what they're doing? I don't think so. Also over priced for the work they do. Changed a couple taps in my laundry (half hour work maybe) and charged over $500. Really? If I knew I would be charged that I would've done it myself. Other small things too numerous to mention and also damaged my wall. Maybe I just had a bad technician but I wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone! Sorry Dave but you don't have my vote. Oh and by the way, no self reviews are allowed on this site.

    Answer from pro:

Ok thanks for the review. We haven't done a sump pump barrel in quite sometime. I find this hard to believe especially with this much disappointment a phone call to the office wasn't made to discuss. We always give a price to be authorized before job starts. I come highly recommend from the city to install sump pumps and barrels if needed along with sewer back up valves. We try our best to satisfy everyone and I never leave or take payment from a customer if they are unsatisfied. You pay nothing if your not happy. Thanks David.

    Main Line Auger

Similar to other reviews you will read, their service is decent, but their pricing is awful. $430 to have my main line augered, which is about a 1 hr job and then $300 more to re-seat the toilet, which takes about 10 minutes. Oh and $70 just to come. I had a friend pay half for the same service by a competitor. To add to the frustration, the line became clogged again a week later, so I rented an auger from Home Depot for $70 to redo the work I paid over $800 for. I sent in my concerns, but was ignored. Take your business else where. There are many other options.

    Answer from pro:

Hello Brett J We introduced to you a straight forward price guide. Travel Dispatch Fee 70.00 after 5pm 90.00 and weekends 125.00 Our price guide which you know is broken down into 10 Levels. Each level has a price. This gives the customer clarity to exactly the amount he/she is paying. You authorized the work to be done. Level 5 Power auger main sewer line. Clear pipe. 431.00 In your case we needed to lift the toilet. Level 4 Set and reseal toilet. 294.00 in some cases this level can be dropped down to a Level 3 (243.00) or even a Level 2 (159.00) There is no warranty in drain cleaning however you did not phone with any concerns. At Piper Plumbing we are completely transparent and definitely would've came back in that time frame to Power auger again and to camera the line to see excatly what the issue is, condition of pipe ect ect. Also the option of a sewer main line back water valve1550 installation was given and receive back 1200 from city rebate program. To prevent this from ever happening again. Thank you for your review. I wish we would'be connected differently. David

    Furnace

Contacted Dave for my furnace troubles. Dave sent an invoice for a burner/sensor cleaning which was not the service provided. I emailed Wednesday to advise I believe I was overcharged and requested a call back. I called Friday, no answer. Because there were no returned messages since Wednesday, I went into the bank after work Friday and cancelled the cheque I wrote. I emailed Saturday morning to advise same. I made it clear that I had every intention to provide payment for services rendered but wanted my concerns rectified. Low and behold calls started coming in. I received a condescending and rude email and voice mail from Dave. He did not take any ownership for having sent me an incorrect invoice nor for his lack of communication. He further wanted to charge me $25 for a stop payment of a cheque that never made into his hands yet from his counter part, Doug. (Doug was great btw in handling my concerns. His conflict resolutions skills are far superior to the owners.) That said, I will never use Piper Plumbing again and have warned others about his unfair treatment and practices. You dropped the ball Dave. Companies set themselves apart from others in this area..."how they handle conflict resolutions." Companies that admit when they messed up and apologize will continue to keep business and money in their pockets. You will never get my hard earned money again. -Carolyn

Thanks Carolyn. I'll take a 2. It was miscommunication between my tech and I. Nothing went right. Take care.

    Garage Heater

I was tired of having a cold garage. I called Piper Plumbing and they started the install of a garage heater the very next day! The workers were pleasant, helpful and explained everything as they went along. They were tidy and cleaned up after themselves. They explained about the permits and arranged everything. All I had to do was call for the inspection so it fit my schedule. A job well done.

    Backwater Valve Installed

Piper Plumbing did an excellent job of installing a backwater valve in my basement. The initial inspection and estimate were done in a very timely manner. The staff members who did the work were very friendly and knowledgeable and very respectful of my home and cleaned up after their work was done. The job was done efficiently with high quality of work and I found the crew very professional and trustworthy. I highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again.
