    Successful bathroom renovation!

I hired Renos Group for a full 3-piece ensuite bathroom renovation which they recently completed. What I loved most about working with Keith is how kind, calm and thorough he was throughout the entire process from our very first planning meetings and discussions, right through to the last few leftover follow-ups that required his attention when more than 90% of the job was done, he delivered on everything he said he would do. This was my first reno and I was stressed, to say the least, but he never let me down and was true to his every word: if he said something would be done, it was completed on time, exactly like we had agreed upon. Both himself and his team are courteous, professional and calm. They are conscientious and skilled workers that I found very pleasant to work with through the entire reno. To their merit, they worked diligently in a difficult and tight situation, in a condo building setting, with lots of rules and regulations that had to be followed. They respected all of the condos requirements to a tee, never complaining about them, and we had no ensuing complaints because of it what a relief! His quote was extremely detailed and very easy to follow. I had no surprise cost overruns, changes or other mishap that one may often encounter with a renovation. When I had to discuss any changes or concerns with him, I felt very comfortable doing so. I felt understood and listened to. I found it easy to discuss with him at any time during the entire process. He addressed everything calmly and professionally, providing me with different options that could work with my budget. The one slight overrun I had was because of a change I requested along the way but even then, everything was agreed upon before moving forward (as it should be). Renos are never a quiet affair, but since I had to live in the space during the work, his crew did everything they could to minimize noise and always let me know when loud noise would start so I wouldnt be too startled. They showed up at the time they said they would and left their work areas clean and free of debris every night upon leaving and at the end, the entire site was left absolutely impeccable. In conclusion, I have no hesitation in recommending Renos Group and Keith for home renovations project. Im very happy with the beautiful work they did in my condo ensuite bathroom. Renos are never easy or fun, but Keith made it so much easier and pleasant for me. Thanks for a job well done!

Thank you for the in depth review. Yes, thankfully we have gotten used to the condo board rules over the last few projects in the same building. You were great to work with, quick with decisions when needed and always available. I enjoyed meeting your adult children when they stopped in, they both seem very nice. Thank you very much for your business.

    Wheelchair accessible bathroom renovation

Wheelchair accessible bathroom. I had a big renovation job of my bathroom and they were great! We have a beautiful accessible bathroom now. They were great with ideas and suggestions when I was unsure of what to do. The work is high quality and I felt at ease with them in my home for the length of the project. Even other family helped with the painting which was perfect! They cleaned up and took away the garbage so I want left with it. Thank you for this amazing space. You have given us something we never thought was possible! Highly recommend this company

    Very Satisfied Customer

I am very pleased with our renovations carried out by RenosGroup. Initially, my plan was limited to replacing the kitchen and removing a wall. However, as the project unfolded, I realized there were additional areas that needed work. Ultimately, we had them replace the hardwood flooring, baseboards, skim coat the ceiling throughout the house, replace & finish the steps and risers, re-tile the bathroom floor, replace the basement bathroom ceiling, fan and pot lights, replace 4 closet doors, prime & paint the house. Keith was able to adjust his schedule to accommodate these additional tasks seamlessly. Throughout the renovation, the consistent and open communication with Keith and his team was invaluable. They kept us well-informed at every stage and promptly addressed any concerns that arose The results have surpassed my expectations in terms of openness, aesthetics, and attention to detail. My kitchen has now become the focal point for family gatherings and entertaining guests. If you're considering a renovation, RenosGroup is a top-notch choice for a smooth and stunning transformation.

Poor project management and quality of work.

We are 8 weeks into a kitchen reno that was quoted take 4 weeks with no end in sight due to lack of skilled resources on site to do the job. Much rework on basic jobs such as skim coating the ceiling. and laying of vinyl plank floor without damaging the wear layer is creating alot of rework. The PM is mostly absent and does not respond to e-mails and resource on site is left waiting for items to start most work daily. July 2024 We have since had to hire another contractor to complete the work that was left undone and not to code. We had to hire an exterminator to get rid of the drain flies that invaded our kitchen due to an improperly placed dishwasher hookup. Both the ceiling and the floor required extensive rework do to the poor quality job that Renos Group said that was the best they could do. Please remove the photos in the link below as you do not have our permission to post. I ask the contractor to remove the photos of my kitchen as I never authorized them to be posted online.

A few things should be clarified… Quoted project in 2018 and mentioned it would take approx 4-6 weeks to complete. Original quote included 24 Days (5 weeks) of labour + dry times for all plaster & paint (1 week) = 6 Week timeline Wed May 24th, 2023 Project start - Client requested 6 weeks more work to be completed. New project timeline: 12 weeks. We rescheduled several other projects to fit this in for the client June 20th, 2023 (4 weeks into project) - Client emailed: “lots of activity this week…loving the progress each day” July 12th, 2023 (7 weeks into project) - Kitchen was fully functional - Sink, faucet and appliances working Date of this online review: Thurs July 13th (7 weeks into project) Skim coat of ceiling had to be reworked because the ceiling cracked in 4 areas, one of them along the complete length of the living room. Client asked us to remove a 12’ long (non-supporting) wall, this caused the weight of the house to shift. We waited 2 weeks after wall removal before skim coating ceiling to try and prevent this. All of the Flooring was installed without damaging the wear layer, it was only when the fridge had to be moved that the floor’s wear layer accidentally got scraped. We should have been even more careful when moving the fridge. The fridge always had a tarp and cardboard beneath in order to prevent marks on the floor. New floor planks were ordered and replaced at our cost. The flooring supplier the client purchased from took over a month to provide new flooring due to a backorder. Project manager was at jobsite twice a week during the first 6 weeks, picking up demolition debris, dropping off supplies, and checking on how the contractors were doing on the project. During the last 6 weeks, the P.M was at jobsite every day working to help speed up the project and ensuring the quality of work Our longest delay in replying to client’s emails was 2 business days. The client sent an email on a Sunday, late morning, to express a concern about the flooring, it was replied to on Monday late morning, and project manager also showed up at jobsite late monday morning to alleviate the client’s concern about the flooring. Client lashed-out and criticized the project manager for not replying sooner. 7 weeks into a 12 week project, the client started to become agitated that the project had not been completed yet. From then on our contractors were subject to daily subtle insults, sarcastic comments or threats to use another contractor. Contractors began to feel uncomfortable working on this project due to the toxic environment Ex 1: The new replacement flooring we ordered was backordered from the supplier the client purchased the flooring from, while waiting, we were regularly critized for 4 weeks about the floor not being done yet. Ex 2: The client moved kitchen items back into the kitchen as it was being completed, this was fine, until we were being chastised for not cleaning up every bit of dust at the end of each day. For the last 6 weeks, the project manager spent 30 mins per day cleaning up the kitchen and floor, and was still critized because the jobsite wasn’t clean enough. In hind site we should have asked the client not to start moving their stuff back into the new kitchen until the project was fully completed. Our typically procedure is to do 10 min tidy ups at the end of each day and one thorough clean up once the project is fully completed. Ex 3: After complaining on how long the project was taking, we stayed and worked until 7 pm for a few consecutive days. The client crisitized us again and asked to not work any later than 4:00 pm. We were given permission to stay until 5 pm when told our normal working hours were between 8-9 to 5:00 pm Despite having a hostile work environment, our team showed up everyday and worked very hard to provide this client with this beautiful kitchen, dining and living room project. Renos Group completed a renovation of our bathrooms and we were very satisfied with the excellent job done by the highly skilled tradesman. The work was done with much attention to detail and an obvious pride in the job, which we really appreciated. It was well organized, which made the period of renovation go smoothly overall. We will choose Renos Group for a future project.
