My wife and I are expecting a baby and needed a quick turnaround on underpinning to have the basement finished in time for our baby's arrival. Kevin & Antonio were aware and pushed their their efforts to make certain it was done under the estimated time as well as to perfection. They walked us through and even gave us insight into what else to make note of with other contractors which has made the finishing process pretty seamless. My finishing contractor was extremely impressed as he's seen the other side of poor underpinning jobs. He even asked me to make an introduction as he wants to use Tall Basements for his other projects. Highly recommend for any basement underpinning.

Working with Tall Basements was an incredibly positive experience for our family. From the initial meet and greet with Kevin, we felt that we were in the best of hands. Kevin is extremely knowledgeable and reassuring, leaves no concern or question unanswered and his crew members were great. Our underpin was on time, on budget and I do need to mention how neat and tidy our worksite was, even on the messiest of excavation days!

We hired Tall Basements after firing our first contractor for not starting our job in almost a year. This left us pretty frustrated but after getting prices from a couple of contractors we decided to go with Tall Basements mainly due to Kevin, the owner, making a couple of good suggestions after reviewing our plans. They certainly weren't the cheapest option, but it was quickly apparent that Kevin had an extensive knowledge of the local codes, underpinning and contracting in general. During the process he explained every step clearly, listened to our concerns and offered some excellent advice for the general design of our basement suite. The job was started on time and the general crew with Omar as the foreman were great. Cheerful, polite and extremely hard working the worksite was kept as clean and tidy as possible. There were really no issues during the entire process. Underpinning will always be dusty, noisy work but Tall Basements really did a great job of minimizing the disruption to our daily lives and since the job was finished we've had numerous other contractors comment on the great concrete work. We have no hesitation recommending Tall Basements, Kevin and his crew to anyone who needs underpinning services.

We wanted to convert a billiards/games room in the basement into a home gym. Existing ceiling height was 7 feet which is just a little too short for a home gym. We hired Kevin and Antonio and crew to dig down for a finished height of 9 feet. Kevin was great to work with. His team worked very hard and were professionals every step of the way. Kevin came onsite to coach the plumbers how to get the most out of the room which was incredibly helpful. We've had a few rainstorms now and the basement has been completely warm and dry. My only regret is not doing the rest of the basement. Maybe one day Kevin!!

I am writing this letter of recommendation for Kevin Robinson and Antonio Esteves and their company, Tall Basements. We have a semi-detached house in Toronto and, together with our neighbours, decided to underpin together last year. Kevin devised a unique strategy to remove the soil from the basement through the party wall and out the front to the neighbour's house. This approach allowed us to keep our perennial garden and minimize the disruptions we faced during the underpin. Our neighbours who had moved out for their renovation were also minimally impacted. I found the Tall Basement crew professional and considerate. Kevin and Antonio approached each project with enthusiasm and dedication, which was evident in their pride in their work. I felt as if they were working in their own home. Their attention to detail, commitment to quality, and insistence on excellence were evident at each step of the process. The whole time, I felt like I was in good hands, allowing me to relax and focus on working from home and looking after my kids. Furthermore, I have been impressed by their problem-solving skills and ability to find well-thought-out solutions for any issue that may arise during a project. They swiftly addressed any challenges to minimize disruptions while we were living at home. Kevin also worked with me to ensure that a future laneway home would have all the services I would need should we decided to build one in the future. I have already recommended them to several of my neighbours and friends. Thank you Kevin, Antonio and the whole crew!

Kevin and his team were great to work with, effective communication and timely delivery. The crew was very respectful of the space, kind and helpful. We would highly recommend them for anyone considering this type of work, its a big job and you want to ensure you are working with a highly professional team.

This is the second project I've done with Tall Basements. On both occasions I've found that they have been extremely professional, provided great communication and completed the work on time and on budget. They take the initiative to solve problems which keeps the project moving forward. I'd highly recommend them for any underpinning project.

We met with a number of companies before we decided on Tall Basements. Kevin was very informative and kept good communication thru out the process. We had underpinning, waterproofing and a 20' extension built. As we were adding an extension it was the pouring off the concrete versus using block that was the decisive in our decision to go with TB. Pouring of concrete reduces water access thru seams (block). TB was ready to go as agreed it was the permit process that thru off are schedule putting us into the winter. Tony the foreman was great his crew was professional they maintained a clean work area. The job turned out great we are happy with their work and are now on the next phase of our build. I met with a lot of companies before signing on with Tall Basements to underpin and damp proof our house. I chose them because they are innovators in the industry. The forms and methods they use maximize the space (the new foundation is flush with the old wall) so you get every inch of possible space. They included

Awful experience and would never recommend them. They are unprofessional and inconsiderate. They come across as nice guys but they will leave you with a mess. My basement was started in June of 2017 and I was told it would take 3 months. By December 2017 they still had not finished. The attached photo shows water coming through the walls and, after my pipes froze, they eventually filled gaps in the foundation with pink insulation - seen at top of photo. If you do hire them, I hope you have better luck than I.
