    Restoration water damage

I had water damage to my basement caused by a drain in my window well filling up and seeping inside. I contacted Restoration 1 and they were there within an hour to assess the damage. They began mitigating the damage and gave me the information I needed to speak with my insurer. Restoration 1 soon after provided a quote for the repairs. Initially my insurer did not want to replace the carpet but Jamie Luck provided me the pictures and advice on how to get my full claim approved. I accepted Restoration 1's offer to do the repair work. The work was done professionally and my basement looks like new. Based on my experience I am very pleased with Restoration 1. "

Thought I was maybe an outlier - then my neighbour went through the same awful service!

We had a flood in Jan 2019. Restoration 1 was recommended by the plumping company that came out. Restoration 1 did a great job of pulling everything out... but that's where the happiness ended. The entire restoration job should have taken maybe a month at most, but because of their constant bungling it took about 10 months - and it's still not complete, but they are so aggravating to deal with that I don't even want to see them ever again. The communication was hostile to non-existant (I was always very polite and soft-spoken). They took months to get back to the insurance company! They left parts of the asbestos-laden drywall on the floor. They lost an entire cabinet after it had been rebuilt. They somehow completely messed up the dimensions of the kitchen cabinets they were rebuilding so that it was about 4 feet short. To make up for that they got us an Ikea-style stand-alone cabinet that has since collapsed through normal use. The kitchen utensil drawers still don't fit properly. The drawer fronts weren't placed back on properly. The list goes on and on. I was just so glad to be done with them I wasn't going to say anything until I heard they were hired by my neighbours, who experienced the same heartache - but luckily after hearing my story, they eventually went on to another company mid-restoration. Their new company fixed the entire thing within a week, after months of delay from Restoration 1. I feel I need to speak out so noone else makes this mistake. Do anything BUT hire this company. It is a complete disaster.

    Water damaged areas

I hired Restoration one to do a small job at first. I kept having water damage in the same area. They were the first company i hired that bothered to look and try to determine where it came from so it wouldnt happen again. Gradually it ballooned into something bigger, even then they took the same approach and found other potential problems and were able to recommend a fix. Due to the amount of times that water damage occurred previously, the approach they took gave a feeling I hadn't had in a long time....... hope. Seems overly dramatic but with the amount of times it's happened before and no fixes. Best thing I did was hire these guys.

Leak from upstairs bathroom in to kitchen

Jamie from Restoration1 came quite promptly to asses the water damage after Mr. Rooter contacted him. He quickly assessed that the damage was very localized and set up de-humidifiers in the kitchen and the bathroom plus a blower fan on the wet doorframe when the drywall was taken off. The area was completely dry after 3 days. The service was top notch and Jamie and Chris could not have been more polite and caring. I could not have asked for better service and would recommend Restoration1 to anyone.

Professional & Prompt Service for a Basement Flood

Jamie and his team and Restoration One were excellent at helping us with a relatively minor flood we had in our basement. I’ve known others who had used them before and were really happy – and our experience was no difference. Great service, and just all-round great people who genuinely care about your problem and work hard to put you at ease in the midst of a stressful problem. They even took my call on a Friday evening. Thank you Restoration One!

Century Home toilet drain water damage on 3 floors

Restoration 1 is a first class company I would recommend to anyone. I had a slow leaking (over a period of some months/years--I just moved in a few months ago and the pipe in question turned out to be around 80yrs old) toilet drain. I will leave to your imagination how disgusting this was!! This was during a long w/end but Robert was there within the hour to assess the damage and Tyler showed up shortly after to start the clean up. Naturally this happened on the top floor not the ground floor! All 3 bathrooms were affected. The first day Tyler did hours of emergency cleaning and I was very satisfied with the results. As a health care professional I was more aware than I wanted to be of the potential health hazard. The work took a week and ended up completely gutting 2 of the 3 bathrooms. Tyler and his colleague were very diligent, spread mats throughout the 2 apartments, cleaned up every day, and left whatever they could functional on a daily basis. They also took great and friendly care around our cats and dog. Meanwhile Robert also takes care of the insurance claims and recommended various contractors to rebuild. I hope you don't need them but if you do, you won't be disappointed. Thanks again PS I will update this review when I find out the cost.

    Basement Floating Floor Mould

After I moved into my new home, I decided to install a workshop in the basement. As the floor was covered with a floating floor, I decided to removed part of it for my work area. The underpad was full of mould. The previous owners had used a felt underpad with an integrated polyehtylene cover on top. Such a method is meant for wooden main or upper level floors, but certainly not for a concrete basement floor. The felt absorbs all of the humidity produced by the concrete, and the polyethylene film traps it in - a perfect set-up for mould. When I contacted the Restoration 1 team, Jamie Luck was quick to respond and quick to understand the problem. His team responded on short order. They sealed off the basement from the rest of the house, removed all of the mouldy flooring, underpad and baseboards, cleaned up the mould and installed industrial ventilation equipment to purge the area of any airborne mould. They were very competent, efficient, polite and enthusiastic. Above all, they were very honest, giving me options along the way. I never felt that they would recommend work that I did not need. I will recommend them to anyone who needs mould or water damage restoration work to be carried out.

    Basement restoration after flooding

My basement was quite damaged. A pipe had burst and flooded 80% of the floor. The entire floor had to be replaced and as a result the walls were dried and cleaned up, baseboards replaced, and walls and doors painted fresh. I was particularly impressed with the efficiency of the work, the attention to details, and professionalism.

    Walls and bathroom

I needed my work done at my house twice. The people from this company were always professional; did an excellent job; we’re very thorough; were always on time and did the work as promised, exceededing my expectations both times. I was so impressed that I had to write a review, first time in my life. I have had work done at my house before and never asked the people back. This company is now my go to company.
