The experience of working with HighTech Renovations was first class from start to finish. Our project was to finish a 1000 sq foot basement with a living area and fireplace, a utility room, an office and a gym. The quote was professionally prepared and detailed every aspect of the job including a 3D representation of the agreed floorplan. From the start date to completion, everything went according to schedule. Materials were delivered ahead of time and the crews came in and did their work professionally and in a timely manner. There were minimal deviations from the contract and those that occurred were identified and agreed to before the work continued. What was particularly impressive was that the work was done properly the first time by the various trades, and the work area was always cleaned up after each phase was completed. All of the finishing was top-notch and the customer service second to none, including helping us hand our TV sets and run a/v wiring after the work had been completed. We have no hesitation at all in recommending Aleks, Dimitry and the team for your renovation project.

I hired with the guys at High Tech Reno to finish my basement in Oakville. From the initial meeting to the completion of the project the entire team was a pleasure to work with. It was important for me that the contractor I hired did not "surprise" me with hidden costs as the project got going and I was not disappointed. I was presented with a very detailed and guaranteed quote and a 3D design and Alex and his team executed everything as per quote, design and schedule. As far as home renovation projects go this was by far the best experience we've had, the team was always available to help us with design and other questions we've had.

QUALITY: GREAT (5 STARS) We are very happy with the quality of the work, the vapour barrier insulation work and replacement of the old windows turned the basement into a really cozy space and the lighting made into a really bright space. We got a really nice basement once everything was done. Absolutely! BUDGET: GOOD (4 STARS) The reason we chose HTR to do our basement was the level of quality and professionalism on their quote. The price was on pair with the competition but by the way they handle the quote process we felt like they clearly knew what they were doing, and they do. It was very detailed, down to every potlight. I also liked their payment scheduling, spreading the cost of the project on to clear deliverable milestones, which they stuck to, never asking for money before these milestones were completed. The overall budget went up, because of additional work, but that was all agreed upon before work was carried out. Additional work included concrete levelling, replacing the stairs, levelling the ceiling, and additional electrical work (which we had the heads up before demolition started that may be needed). POST-COMPLETION SUPPORT: GREAT (5 STARS) After the project was complete and fully paid for there were some deficiencies identified which they promptly addressed with no additional costs. SCHEDULING: GOOD (4 STARS) Scheduling was OK, we were told the work could be carried out in 3 weeks if there were no delays, or additional work necessary (as I mentioned we added concrete work which was not part of the plan). There were more delays pinned to building permits. But once all the stars aligned and we received a final schedule and set a completion date the project was delivered on time. COMMUNICATION: COULD BE BETTER (3 STARS) With any project, there is always stress around schedules, delays, plans changing, and that’s pretty normal. However some of it could have been minimized with better communication. Overall we are really happy and would recommend them or work with them again.

After meeting with a few companies we went with HTR. They provided us with a very reasonable quote and more importantly, we like what they offered and their cost transparency. We were having our 25+ years old, finished basement updated. It was a full gut project. Alex was our contact/PM and he answered the many questions we had prior to our commitment to the project, and was always available and quick to reply to our questions/concerns during the project. Alex was very accommodating when we requested small changes during demo and build. He was informative when we asked for things that would not be in our best interest, to ensure we understood our request fully, and any implications. His advice was sound and we fully trusted him. We were provided a project schedule by Alex prior to start, so we knew who was coming and what day. All the teams that were involved in this project, from demo crew to electricians, drywallers, tapers, muders, plumbers, painter and handyman were very skilled, hardworking and efficient. The communication flowed well between these crews and Alex, our PM. There wasn't anything that Alex didn't know about. He visited the site regularly to check on progress, but he received updates daily and knew of any/all issues, if they arose. We were pleasantly surprised that a professional cleaning service was provided at the end to clean, dust, mop etc. This was on the schedule but we assumed it would be one of the crew members. Nice touch. Overall, we are very happy with the end result and love every square inch of our newly finished basement, including the custom wall unit in my husbands music studio (which was also soundproofed). We have received many compliments from friends and family. The cherry on top was when our movers commented that they have seen many, many basement renos while moving contents back into client's newly finished basements, and they felt ours was a stellar job with fine attention to detail.

I was pretty satisfied with Alex's work over all. I sensed we could trust him and in the end my instincts were correct. He gave us a very reasonable quote. I liked the contract. I requested a lien waver clause and he accommodated that but in the end I decided to trust he would pay his subcontractors correctly as they always seemed to do any corrections or completions we asked for eventually. I explain "eventually" in the next paragraph. We went the permit route and had a double permit. Because the project was in the summer there was no way to know how much vacation time the permit office personnel would have. Permit delays caused our project to delay such that it conflicted with other projects Alex had on the go. We accepted this without issue knowing it would cause delays in the project. In effect we created the delays by going the permit route but in the end we are glad we did because the inspectors had no issues with our project thanks to the excellent work of Alex and his team. We knew everything was done correctly. I would have given a higher rating (more stars) except the electrical outlets were not that great in that a lot of the things I tried to plug in would not go in until I filed them smoother while these same plugs would easily plug into 4 other outlets we had installed recently by an electrician friend. For me this is just a "we got what we paid for item". I guess the inspector did not see this as a safety issue but rather an inconvenience issue. So if you do not want this issue be sure to specify you want top quality components and I am sure Alex will price his quote higher to accommodate your request.

No hesitation in recommending HRT. Alex did a great design and was very responsive to any concerns/ questions that I had. I am very happy with the work that HTR did.

Because of their reputation on HomeStars, we chose HTR Basements to renovate our kitchen, and we could not be happier with the process and end result. It was a terrific experience working with them to meet our functional and aesthetic goals and then working with our project manager on execution. They took the time to address each query, worry, and idea we had, and they didn't stop until we were fully satisfied. Not only that, but we absolutely adore the outcome! They delivered on time and on budget! ।

Amazing company to have work on your home very affordable, his crew very knowledgeable best part is they walk you through everything that needs to be worked on. They are super friendly and they answer all your questions. If you need this work this is the overall best company you will have hired they will go above and beyond any expectations you will ever find, I have worked with HTR and company's for the past 5 years.

Good experience with them. Wore masks and were safe throughout. Provided good advice and completed the work quickly and efficiently.

Very professional and reliable. He came on time for his appointment and was very responsive on texts. He gave a fair estimate - better than the other estimates for a mold problem because of flooding and water damage in my basement. On the day of the job, his two associates came on time, remediated the mold and left the spot clean. I will highly recommend HTR and his crew.
