Amazing experience with our window replacement
Ed is absolutely fantastic! He replaced all of our windows over several years, in 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2010. In total, 29 windows and a sliding door. They all look beautiful, reduced our heating costs by 50% (!!), and are maintenance free (no more exterior painting!). More recently (April 2024), the seal broke on one of the original 2006 windows, after 18 years of direct south-facing sun. Ed replaced the glass at a fraction of the cost of a new window, and it looks fantastic. Another 10 year warranty on the glass and seal. When we mentioned on his visit that we had a few handles that had been damaged by teenager misuse over the years, Ed made a special trip to come back replace them, at no charge! We cannot recommend Ed and his company more highly.

Windows and front door
It was a great experience from start to end when we hired Ideal Direct Home Improvements to replace our windows and front door! Ed is a great contractor who demonstrates pride in craftsmanship in the work being done and it shows through the entire process. He patiently answered all of my questions and offered up suggestions and options in our first walk through together that would fit in with our budget, leaving no doubt in our minds that his was the right company to go with for our project. He uses quality product (love the NorthStar windows) and provided different options to choose from. When working onsite, he was always respectful of our home and always cleaned up at the end of each day. At the start of the job he promised we would love the end result and he kept his promise, we love it! Definitely recommend this company, look forward to working with them on future home renos!

Backyard Full Makeover
We used Ideal Direct for the interior of our home. It was a fully gutted job and we could not be happier. A couple of years later we decided to landscape and renovate our entire backyard. This was not a small task. Our yard is a steep hill from nearly the back of the lot to the back of the house. Our yard is huge (80s home huge lots). The entire backyard had nothing done to it except a tiny cement slab for a table that barely fit. Ideal Direct made us the oasis we have always wanted. A garden at the top of our hill now extends the length of the back wall. This was an engineering feat to say the least. A retaining wall over 5 feet made of 300lb blocks now lines our back yard with a giant vegetable garden built to our exact desires. That is not all. A substantial patio was added which is covered by a gigantic yet beautiful covered outdoor space including a custom designed shed attached. There is pot lights inside and out of the space. This includes a sidewalk around the whole structure. Honestly I can not explain it well enough for you to understand so see the pictures. Back to Eddie. He is by far the most understanding and patient contractor I have ever dealt with. He ensures that every aspect of the job is perfected. He works with your budget and stretches every dollar to the max to get you the best bang for your buck. His team works unbelievably hard and are the greatest workers around. I honestly say after doing the interior of my home, I was glad we chose Ideal Direct and Eddie to complete our project. I looked around but he was the best price for the best quality and I highly recommend him. Like I said check out the pictures. Amazing.

Amazing master bath transformation
I was looking to do a total redesign of our master bath and based on a referral from a friend, chose Ideal Direct Home Improvements Company for this project. Our project included relocating the toilet from one end of the room to the other, changing out a corner standup shower to a full length, installing a rain shower, converting a single sink vanity to a double, adding new lighting (vanity and potlights) and changing all the tile and fixtures. The final product is amazing! Ed and his team turned our outdated space into one that feels like a 5-star hotel. From start to finish, this has been a smooth process. This was the first major renovation we have done and Ed was so helpful every step of the way. He provided helpful and honest recommendations and ideas. He goes above and beyond for his clients. So easy to work with and accommodating. One thing I definitely have to mention about Ed is that he is SUPER clean and respectful of our living space. Ed is incredibly meticulous and his workmanship is top notch. We were so pleased with the result that we are excited to have Ideal Direct start working on our other bathrooms soon! 100% recommend.

Basement
After doing some research on HomeStars (by reading endless reviews) to select a company to finish our basement, we narrowed down our choices to 3 companies. In the space we had to work with we envisioned a small home gym, a bar for entertaining, a family room, guest room, and bathroom. We hired Ideal Direct because Edward stood out from the other contractors and explained or pointed out the following: 1) Explanation of HVAC adjustments needed by code 2) Using WOOD Studs for framing (which is ideal and strong enough for hanging large screen televisions, shelving, and pictures. 3) Quality of his work and experience 4) Reviews from other clients Well, let me tell you how meticulous Edward really is. He is a perfectionist, his attention to detail is effectively executed, among his vision of creating and sharing ideas and options for our basement. Prior to the contract start date, I won a beautiful dark grey kitchen cabinet set at an auction. We knew these cabinets would be perfect for our bar area. Edward customized a bar for us and incorporated the style of the Shaker cabinets around the main bar area. We wanted the base cabinets more than the uppers because we did not want this area to look like a kitchen. Edward mentioned that he could customize them into bases for extra storage. Well, we ended up using 11/14 cupboards placed them along the wall in the home gym. Thank goodness, because they are absolutely necessary for extra storage (which I think everyone needs) and by doing this our money wasn’t wasted (since we used almost all the cupboards) it was well spent. Edward was great to work with, I may have watched a little too much because I was curious about the process and excited to see it come to life. He became like family, our 5 year old cried when the job was done because he was so used to Edward being there. In the end, our finished basement has exceeded our expectations. Everybody loves the space, it’s our new hangout in the home, and we seem to be there more than the main floor these days. Everyone who sees our “new floor” and loves it and can’t believe how beautiful it is. In the future, we would definitely hire Ideal Direct for any new home improvements, great craftsmanship, by the book, and attention to detail, by far the best choice for your next home improvement.

Drywall Installations in basement and taping
We just finished framing our basement and we had a hard time looking for a professional drywall company to install our drywall and finish it. So, after so much searching and meeting with contractors, we finally meet Edward from Ideal Direct Home Improvements Company. My wife and I were instantly impressed by his knowledge and professionalism! He took the time to convince us too "get it done right the first time" He priced out our project and sent us links to his YouTube videos! We subscribed and enjoyed the videos! We called him back to sign up. We booked him and felt at ease, knowing we were in good hands! We booked with a 3 week window, and got it done within a week and a half of signing. I cant say enough great things about Edward and especially his drywall crew, Edward said that the installation would get done within one day and low and behold, they were done early afternoon! His taper was there within a couple of days and did an amazing job. My wife and I were amazed! Thank you Edward, for delivering exactly what you said! We are now on our way to finish off the rest and have an amazing finish for our open concept basement and theater.

Windows replacement project
It is our first time using homestar for a big project of about 18 windows. We are vey happy with the end result. Work was done on scheduled time. It was also very organized, cleaned and professionally done. Highly recomended

Kitchen Reno Mud and Tape
Edward was amazing!!!! He came to quote the job on a Saturday... he could tell that it was time sensitive...my kitchen was spread across my house! Despite having other jobs and crews Edward took the job and started two days later on Monday! To get the job done he did the work himself and he did an amazing job in a very timely manner for a very reasonable price. I will defiantly recommend Edward /Ideal Direct to anyone looking to have a quality job done by professionals. And I will certainly be using Edward for my Basement Reno in the spring. Thanks again for a great job!

Windows installation
Edward from Ideal Direct Home Improvements Co. did a great and clean job from start to finish, did not have to clean up after him. We needed the one custom window for our kitchen remodel, and Edward looked after us promptly. Was very happy with the work and would definitely recommend him and he will be doing our front door.

Bathroom Renovation
Highly recommend Edward and his team from Ideal Direct Home Improvements for all your renovation needs. I was very satisfied with the job he’s done for me. Edward completed my bathroom and was very professional, he answered all my questions and explained everything to me on what needed to be done. The taping and finish carpentry were clean and very well done. Tile installation was outstandingly done properly and with precision. Will definitely be using Edward for all my future projects and proud to share pictures of the job he did.
