Heat Pump - needs constant repair

LG over promises and does not deliver. LG installed a Bladex heat pump and it has never worked right. It stops working periodically - 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, 1 month was the longest. I have been asking them to replace as it has been serviced many times and it still stops working. We were not able to get the government loan as they installed prior to approval. Maybe a class action suit with so many promises and issues with their products. They have an ad about Reliance on Facebook but they seem to be worse. Please review carefully before purchasing from LG. And note they will want a deposit and place a hold on your credit card before they provide service.

The worst customer service ever and many broken promises

Never proceed with installation or finalizing the deal BEFORE securing the government loan. They over promise and under deliver.

    Answer from pro:

Mr. Mosly, our company never guarantees a loan approval as it is outside our scope to be able to do so. However, as a good will gesture you were offered, and accepted an in-house 0% loan- of which we …

    Heat Pump

Heat Pumps seem to be very popular. Our neighbor has one and they love it. We went with L.G. Home Comfort because we got a better price. We were NOT told that if the power goes out, that you have to manually turn the furnace off and on to get the furnace to work again. So if there was nobody home for a day or two (or longer) you would come home to no heat and very possibly frozen water pipes. To fix this problem, they are going to charge us over $600.00. It should have been installed this way from the beginning. We recommended this Company to a friend down the road, and she is having the same problem. She can't even go away for a week to help a sick friend for fear of leaving her home with possibly no heat. We have never heard of this problem with any other heat pump except from this Company. They need to fix this problem at no charge and not install Ecobee thermostats in the future. DO THE RIGHT THING L. G. Home Comfort. Laurie & Fred Davis

Their sales people will be dishonest with you.

Don't be fooled. DON'T SIGN ANYHING!!! Salesman will promise 0% government loans. Nope, that won't happen. No help in applying. No information on how to apply. They will try not to honour their contract. It took multiple trips to Sudbury from Toronto because they "didn't have the supplies they needed". The salesman will call you yelling like a madman and trying to pressure you into signing the "bridge financing" paperwork. Then they will hang up and badger you by text. Finally, when you complain the company will ghost you and will not respond to messages. The "bridge financing" is actually a very high interest loan. I have a contract from the sale rep that states "0% Government Loan". Anyone else thinking about a class action lawsuit?

    Tankless Water heater

I'd like to share a very positive experience I had with the LG Home Comfort team. Daljeet and Gurmeet arrived on time and completed the install in a very efficient and professional manner. They were most helpful dealing with a "non-standard" install, and the finished job exceeds all my expectations. Would highly recommend this team from the Salesman Mason, to the install team Daljeet and Gurmeet! Hope to do business with you again in the future.

Water Heater Tankless - Rinnai 160K BTU, that sounds like a diesel engine running in my home

LG home comfort did respond quickly to every plea for help that I put to them. Three different crews were sent to address the noise and other issues we pointed out. None of the 3 crews sent were able to resolve the very loud humming noise that would start each and every time the cold water was used in my home. Every time we would use cold water, the noise would start. It was enough loud enough to constantly wake us up. One crew would blame the home plumbing, stating that there was a cross over flow from hot to cold somewhere. I assured them that the only place where that would happen is at any faucet outlet. That was where that it was supposed to happen. I tested my theory correct. The only time that hot and cold water mix is when a faucet is opened. A second crew, was as baffled as the first, even with help from the Manufacturer, Rinnai. It was suggested that they tap the plumbing the previous water tank used. That resulted in a no hot water situation for 2 days. The Tankless Water Heater (TWH) would shut down immediately after hot water was drawn. The third crew sent fixed the no hot water issue, and suggested that the noise issue was due to a water pressure difference between the hot and cold sides. He based this on the size of the pipes, cold side being 3/4 inch, and hot side being 1/2 inch. It would required a extra small 2 or 3 liter tank to absorb the pressure difference. Again, this is a theory as not a solution to the noise issue. What LG home comfort has not done so far, is to return my calls. I've called virtually every day to talk to anyone about the noise issue the TWH makes. What I want to have hot water given to me, as our previous hot water tanks did for the last 40 years, SILENTLY. I was told that some older homes, such as mine, cannot work with a TWH. If this is the case, and there is no fix for the loud noise the TWH generates, then the only possible fix, is to reinstall a hot water tank iN the same location where the previous one was. I am willing to purchase one from LG, but the TWH has to be removed. Update, I was contacted by their trouble shouting manager. I brought him up to date by recounting the above story. He said that he would get back to me later, which he did. He offered to have the TWH removed, but they only had 50 gallon commercial grade water heater tanks available for the next while. I agreed to his offer. The TWH was removed and a tank to heat the water was put in its place. Its a world of difference. We hear nothing when the water is heating, nor when its drawn. Commercial tank is more expensive that residential, but that is ok because it will last much longer.

    Look elsewhere

The biggest purchase mistake I've ever made in my life was buying from this company LG Home Comfort. It was a hasty decision that now I am suffering with and my biggest regret. They promised me 3 things as incentives to sign up with them and they did not follow through on any of their promises: a snowstand for the air conditioner, pay my closure fees to let me out of my previous contract with the previous company I was with, and a $1000 cashback cheque hand to me personally. All of these promises were also written down. I've contact them multiple times and it has been 3 months now! The management is uncooperative or doesn't even get back to me like they said they would. Several times they even have said "we will take care of it" and they still do nothing. This is incredibly ridiculous and unethical. Clearly they do not value their customers nor care about customer satisfaction. I am now taking legal action or filing a consumer report because they did not fulfill their end of the deal. Other home comfort companies are much more professional. At least with other companies, you will never have to escalate things to management only to be ignored and not resolve anything at all. I realized this company is actually just as expensive or even MORE EXPENSIVE than the previous company I was with because they charge 20k for a furnace, AC, and tankless WH on a 15 year contract, meanwhile LG Home Comfort is charging 20k for all 3 machines on a 20 year contract with interests!! So at the end of the amortization term, you actually pay 27k! They just pretend that they are cheaper because their amortization period is longer so they can lower the monthly payments, which is essentially deceptive!!! Meanwhile my friends bought all 3 machines for only 10k with the same 10 year warranty parts and labour! If you need financing, you can easily find financial companies yourself or use a line of credit. There are other companies who charge half of what these guys charge for the same products and same warranty!! This company charges double of what the market value is!! Such greedy people. I was too busy to do my research before when I asked them if their prices are as competitive as other companies and they deceived me. Don't fall for their marketing tactics like I did! By the way, right after they installed the machines, they asked us for a 5 star review before even providing anything and we did it, even though they didn't deserve it...no wonder why they have many good reviews because of kind people like us.
