    Service Geothermal Heating or Cooling System
    I had 3 other companies before, but they couldn't pinpoint where freon leaks were. (My AC wasn't installed properly 5 years ago when the owner of the business who was supposed to install it suddenly passed away. So his assistant installed it instead as it was already paid for.) Parent Heating & Cooling wasn't my 1st choice as the hourly rate was the highest. I found out that they have quality technicians with experiences. Holly, a office staff, was a very good communicator and went out of her way to make things happen. She got Marc, the technician, to come. He has 35 years of experience & expertise in heating & cooling. He's very logical, thorough, methodical when it comes to solving problems. He found the leaks were in the coil and I had to have it replaced. Holly, again, went out of her way to expedite the parts order and arranged Marc to install it much quicker than I expected, to my delight. Special thanks to a great help from Holly in the office and an expert work from Marc! I'm so happy that I have my AC working to keep me comfortable. I know that I'll be contacting this company for my future heating & cooling issues/replacements.

    Restored AC

    Lost AC on Friday before long weekend. Marc with Parent responded to message in 30 min and advised he could come out next morning (understandable given callout load he was probably dealing with). He arrived on time and quickly identified a failed startup capacitor which he replaced from truck stock. He also checked refrigerant flows and checked air supply and return temps. He also provided some DIY tips and info for minor issues in future and is a pleasant, helpful technician. I've been very pleased with Parent's service and help for more than 20 years and certainly recommend them. They are trustworthy and straightforward without aggressive 'upselling'. Thank you, Marc!

    Great Company

    I have been a customer with Parent Heating and Cooling for over twenty years. I have always been impressed with the skill level of their technicians and the organization of those working in the office. In all that time I have always felt secure with Parent. I wholeheartedly recommend this company!

    Great Service

    Parent came and repaired my furnace and the technician showed up on time and was very professional. I highly recommend.

    Furnace , AC service

    I have been a customer for over 10 years . I was very happy with the change over Parent did from oil to natural gas and the annual maintenance of furnace, hot water tank and AC has been very satisfactory . When there have been problems they have been quickly and satisfactorily addressed. Wendy , the contact person , is available , polite and helpful. I am very happy with the service .

    Great service

    I hired Parent to redo the heating and cooling system in my home as part of a large reno I was doing. The team was great, very knowledge and completed the work on time and on budget. Definitely would recommend!

    Parent broke our boiler

    On January 15th 2022, our boiler stopped working. Our regular HVAC company was not available so we called Parent, and a technician was sent to our home. The technician was polite and communicated well, but it was clear that he did not have much experience with boilers. He spent most of the two-hour service call on the phone with a senior technician. After the job was completed, he stated that he had broken a piece of the flame rod - I'm not sure if this was done on purpose or by accident - and that the repair may be temporary. The boiler was working after his repair but was still producing error messages, and he said we should get the boiler checked if the errors persisted. Later that week, the boiler stopped working, and we called our regular company for an appointment. They determined that two parts needed to be replaced - the flame rod and spark igniter. Our boiler was still under warranty, but the boiler manufacturer was not willing to replace one of the parts because it was broken by the Parent technician. This is unfortunate and means we needed to pay $350 to get the part replaced because of the work done by Parent. It is also unfortunate that the service call took 2 hours instead of 1 because of the Parent technician's lack of experience, which adds another $220 to the cost of the repairs. In summary, Parent's lack of expertise with boilers cost us an additional $570 ($220 for the lengthy service call and $350 for the broken part). We reached out to Parent to see if they could do anything to rectify the situation and we did not receive a response.

    Heat Pump Installation

    We just had a heat pump installed by Parent Heating and Cooling. Luc visited our home to tell us about them, the best kind for our installation and to give us a quote. A date was set and installers Stephan and Zain arrived on the date at the time set . We were VERY impressed with their professional work and would highly recommend Parent Heating and Cooling.

    Complete HVAC system replaced

    Has Parent do a conversion from electric baseboard heating to a completely new natural gas forced air system including air conditioning. The end result was a decent job, but we only found out a year later while having the annual maintenance done that they didn't setup the system properly and it was only functioning at 40%. We thought the upstairs bedrooms weren't being heated or cooled properly due to the indirect duct routing necessitated by the retrofit. After the proper adjustments, the system worked much better. Oh and during the install, my wife caught one of the guys standing on the arm of my couch instead of a ladder. He ended up breaking the arm but my wife his it from me for a couple of months so it was too late to try and get the company to replace it.
