I had the all flooring replaced in my entire house with solid maple. Rick and his team are professional craftsmen. They take pride in their work and are committed to quality. I highly recommend you get them to do the job from start to finish. I tried to save a bit of money by having someone else lay down the subfloor. It ended up costing me time and money in the end. Rick refused to lay down the flooring on a subfloor that were not to his standards. As disappointing as at was to delay the project and have my other guy fix the problem, I was grateful that Rick stuck to his guns, then made time in the team's busy schedule to fit me in only a week later. I was thrilled with the end result! They created perfect transitions at stairways and railings, and got rid of all the creaks! I highly recommend Rick and his team for your next project.

We were moving into a new house and had Rick come over to quote on 1100 sq ft. of parquet removal, replacement with engineered hardwood and refinishing the stairs. Rick took the time to measure every room carefully and wrote out a detailed quote on the spot. He gave us different scenarios in order to be prepared depending on what happened when they removed the floor. During the removal all of the workers were respectful of the space and did a great job to keep the mess to a minimum. Jordan did a great job on the install. The finished job looks amazing! Rick checked in with us on a regular basis to ensure we were happy with the progress of all of the jobs. We are extremely happy with the finished product and we look forward to working with them again.

UPDATE 1.5 years later: Hardwood still looks and feels great. Barely any squeaking and only in the upstairs where we laid on top of the old subfloor. This would be a good result in a new house let alone a 100+ year old house with all the craziness they had to deal with. Thanks again Rick. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We recently hired Rick and his crew to install new engineered hardwood throughout our 100+ year old home. From day one Rick was very straight forward with his quote and his advice. The floors were uneven and out of level and Rick made it very clear that although he does have a lot of experience working in older homes he could get it to be good, but not perfect. His quote was very detailed and scheduling the job was easy. Halfway through tearing up the old hardwood Rick calls me and tells me there's an issue - turns out the old subfloor on the main floor, which was probably original, was in terrible shape and would need a complete replacement. Rick recommended we call in a carpenter to do this work and also make sure all the joists were in good shape. Luckily we found a great carpenter who was able to start the day after Rick's team finished the upstairs. Rick worked with us to schedule the rest of the job immediately after the carpenter finished, which meant that we were still able to move in on time. Rick also came by to coordinate with the carpenter to make sure the hardwood would line up right with the kitchen tile, coordinate the vent size and heights, etc. If we had chosen to go with someone less experienced or flexible we could have been in real trouble, but Rick worked with us to get it done and did a terrific job. As others have said the work space was cleaned thoroughly (they even shop-vacced the heck out of the old subfloor to be removed) and they took care not to damage any walls etc. Great work all around.

Rick and his team were so professional and it was a pleasure doing business with them. They had the job done in a day and a half and they did a beautiful job. Exactly what I had envisioned. Their price was highly economical and not only are you getting good value but your getting a great team. I will recommend them to anyone wanting to renovate their floors. What can I say, choose them! We needed to have our two level spiral staircase, bannisters and hallway refinished as they were severely worn. I called Rick and he came out the next day to give me a quote. He was honest and professional. He told us that our floors were the worst he had ever seen! We booked to have our floors done for about a month later. His team was punctual and efficient. They covered the doorways with plastic to cut down on the dust spreading. They cleaned up after themselves. The end product was magnificent! They blended the refinished floors into the existing hardwood beautifully. Considering the shape of the floors, we were apprehensive on how they would look. They were perfect! I highly recommend Mclaughlin Flooring for any refinishing project.

This review is long overdue, but I had to find the time to share me and my familys sentiments. My elderly disabled parents were looking to get rid of all the carpet upstairs and the change the staircase as well (which also had a carpet liner), in preparation to sell the house. After sifting through a few companies, our final consult took place with Rick from McLaughlin Flooring and his associate Max. My father (who is incredibly hard to please) was floored (no pun intended) by their professionalism, attentional to detail and overall knowledge. After that initial meeting, we quickly confirmed that we wanted to book them for our project as soon as possible. Max executed the staircase of our dreams and we are beyond pleased. He was extremely professional, tidied up every day, constantly kept us in the loop, took my parents disabilities into consideration, kind hearted and took absolute pride in his work. I could go on and on, but it was truly a pleasure (which most people wouldnt use to describe renovations). We were actually sad to see him go. Thomas and Attila also executed a great deal of work, removing all the carpet, moving the furniture, installing the new flooring and everything else in between. They were a great group of guys and we would absolutely recommend them to any and everyone. They may have done too good of a job because after they nearly completed upstairs, my parents decided that same week to have the downstairs done as well. They worked incredibly fast, with attention to detail and efficiency. Now my parents dont want to sell the house!
