    Ductless Air conditioner - Unbelieveable customer service, excellent service, good product

    *** Amended review effective September 16, 2019 *** I originally gave this company a lower rating with the heading: Ductless Air conditioner - Excellent sales, good product, but careless work damaged my home My opinion of the company has changed as their customer service insisted on rectifying the situation for me, and in the end, that is exactly what they did. Mistakes can happen, but I believe the aftercare a company takes to right a situation speaks volumes. Spring Home stayed in touch with me and ensured I was satisfied. They paid for the damage that was caused to my step. I've left the original review up so you can see how the company completely changed my mind on the matter. I would not hesitate to recommend their services knowing how they look after their customers throughout the process -- before, during, and especially after the installation. +++ **Original review** I contacted four different companies before we chose Spring Home Heating & Cooling Systems Inc to install our ductless air conditioner. The sales person was knowledgeable and took his time to explain the product to us. We spoke first on the phone and again when he came to do the home evaluation. Although his price was not the least expensive, we felt confident that he sold us the unit we needed for our space. We have no complaints whatsoever about this part of the company. Their rep sold the product professionally and was not pushy at all. We had even talked about buying a new boiler from the company in the fall. Two installers came as scheduled. They appeared efficient, and once we showed them the area where they'd be working, we felt no need to look over their shoulders. Unfortunately, this was our mistake. I was in the kitchen when I heard something drop from the top floor where our air condition unit was being installed. It landed with a thud, so I went to see what had happened. A hand drill sat at the carpeted entrance of our front door. What I didn’t realize then was it had hit a step on our staircase before it landed. As the staircase was covered in a drop sheet, we did not discover the damage until later. One of our steps is now splintered and needs repair. Not long after the install, the company's customer service department contacted me and I told them about the damage. After several emails back and forth, the company concluded they could not say for certain if they caused the damage. The tone of the correspondence implies we damaged the step ourselves. They offered a "first year complimentary maintenance" for the system as a gesture of good will. I'm disappointed that the company would not take responsibility for the damage. The air condition unit is working fine. Accidents happen, and the damage to our step was due to carelessness, not incompetence. How my problem was handled , however, leaves me with a negative view of the company. I have no interest in a 'goodwill' gesture as I've already hired someone to fix the step. It's an inconvenience but it needs to be done. I won't be buying any more services from this company.

    Hot Water Tank Installation

    We finally decided to change our inefficient 19-year old rented hot water tank. Enercare technician came to our place to see whether the new tank could be installed with new white pipes without major work to our finished basement The old tank was hooked up with old black pipes. The sad verdict was that our finished basement ceiling had to be opened up substantially resulting in extra installation cost. A second independent installer offered the same opinion. Both technicians disregarded our suggestions that they could take advantage of the existing openings cut through the ceiling, when we had our new furnace installed to replace the old furnace (also 19-year old and inefficient). With much distress, we contacted Spring Home who had installed our new furnace in the past. To our big relief, we were advised that the installation of the new water tank can be done without opening our basement ceiling. On top of that, we also got a good quote for a top name hot water tank. With their ingenuity, Spring Home installers did a clean job, taking full advantage of the existing openings created by the installation of the new furnace a few years ago. Spring Home also offered me a discount for my 2017 preventative maintenance when we reported some minor dents on the newly installed hot water tank. Such classy act! Finally, while performing this year maintenance, Spring Home installer charged me both the inspection of the central humidifier (also installed by Spring Home together with the new furnace) and a new replacement pad. When informing Cheryl that we only needed the new pad, Spring Home gladly refunded me the cost of the humidifier inspection. Another excellent customer service act! Having my furnace, central humidifier and hot water tank sold and installed by Spring Home, we confidently conclude that there’s NO need to shop around for our AC replacement in the near future!

    Furnace/AC/Water Tank/Air Cleaner/BBQ gas line

    Before choosing Spring Home, we started last year getting quotes on just the furnace. We were told that our furnace was running at 60%, and this was a generous assumption. At the Toronto Home Show, we talked to 3 other Heating and Air Con. companies whom also arranged a free estimate. All 3 companies were very knowledgeable with good selling points. We decided to change out the furnace/AC/Water Tank all at once. We were just about to choose one of the three, when our friend called and said they had their furnace done by Spring Home, so we had to get one more quote. We called and arranged an inspection with George. He was very impressive with his answers to our questions, little did he know, we have been doing our research for about a year with manufactures, specs, installation, etc. George is very knowledgeable and informed us of things we didn't know. His crew of installers are certified gas fitters, they would be able to run our bbq gas line. We decided to go with George and his company, because we found him very knowledgeable, friendly, and most of all honest. The install was very satisfactory, the crew did everything in 1 day. Furnace/AC/Water Tank/BBQ line/Air Cleaner We would highly recommend Spring Home Heating. At least talk to them before your final decision, that's what we did.

    Air Conditioner and Humidifier

    I was a first-time owner of a house with central air and to my dismay the 20-yr old air conditioner was broken when I tried to turn it on the first time in May. I searched for 5 companies here on Homestars with exceptional ratings but only 2 bothered to respond. Cy from Spring Home was by far the most helpful and most knowledgeable. I was impressed by his knowledge regarding a/c's. I had so many questions and he patiently answered all of them in detail, unlike some companies that may try to rush you and give you partial answers perhaps due to a lack of knowledge. Cy recommended relocating the a/c mounting points to reduce chance of vibration/noise as well as the capping of some vents to prevent birds from nesting in there. He recommended me the proper a/c unit and did not upsell me at all. The actual installation of the a/c and humidifier was done expediently and professionally with the techs arriving on time. Afterward, Cy followed up to see how everything was going. At the end, I felt like I dealt with a knowledgeable and trustworthy company and that's more important than judging on price alone. Having said that, Cy's prices on the Lennox units were indeed very good! What a bonus! Here I am, almost 5 months later, emailing the company questions about how to set the humidifer settings and they reply to me right away without hesitation. That's what I call service and dedication to their customers. Thanks Cy and Spring Home!

    New Furnace

    I recently needed a new furnace for my senior dad, and Justin at Spring Home Heating & Cooling System Inc. exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, he was incredibly responsive to my emails and questions, handling all my concerns promptly and professionally. I was on a tight timeline, and he made sure to work with me to get the furnace installed quickly. Justins commitment to excellent customer service and his professional approach made the entire experience stress-free. Not only does the furnace function just as expected, but the installation was completed with such attention to detail. The work area was left so neat and tidy, and its clear that a lot of care went into ensuring a quality setup. Thank you again for the professionalism and high-quality service.     Oil furnace and AC replacement.

    Spring Home has done great job of replacing my pre-historic oil furnace with new gas high efficiency furnace, plus replacing an old AC with new unit, both Tempstar. They removed the old heavy furnace from my basement, and disposed of the old AC as well. Since it's mid summer, the new AC made a huge difference, now I can cool my house in under 45 minutes down to 23C from 27C (old AC would run all day and temp would budge by 1 degree at most). I also got Desert Spring flow though humidifier, with electronically controlled valve, way better and cleaner than the old drum unit. I am happy with the results, and appreciate the effort they put in, I realize that the installation was complicated one because my house is 60 years old and has weird and unusual duct setup and furnace positioning, and because the house is semi-detached, it required running the gas line through the bathroom, to the furnace from the meter on the external wall, was complicated too. I'm happy with results, the gas meter is neatly hidden behind the hedge, and the exhaust/intake pipes exit at the back of my house, so the front of the house didn't get spoiled by ugly pipes sticking out of the front wall. I hope it will be cheaper to heat my home in winter after getting rid of the oil furnace (and the 900 Liter oil tank along with it).

    Professional installation and good value heat pump

    Good job Springhome. Today they installed my heat pump. The technicians, Luky and Jack did an awesome job. Very professional and careful. The heat pump itself has a strong support and customer service, which make me feel much more reassured. Anyway I am 200% satisfied. Strongly recommend.

    New Heating and Cooling System

    We use HomeStars every time we require professional service and this time was no exception. When our AC stopped working we called 5 different providers including Spring Home Heating and Cooling Systems Inc. Of all 5 companies we compared, only Cy from Spring Home came the same day and took his time to review our existing situation and provide us with several options. Being the diligent shoppers we asked Cy several more questions (via email and phone) over several days and even had him come back to our house for another review of our choices. Every time Cy was professional, on time and a pleasure to deal with and never pushy. We finally realized that the right choice was to go with Spring Home. Now this is where we usually get nervous. Sales people work hard to get your business, but what will our installation experience be? To our pleasant surprise it was just as professional and on time. As promised their installers, Sam and Victor, arrived early and stayed until early evening to ensure that all the work was completed to code and our expectations. This included correcting some existing duct work that was incorrectly installed. The work was neat and clean, and we are very happy with all of it. We ended up replacing our A/C, furnace, humidifier and air purifier, all Lennox products. Our entire experience with everyone at Spring Home, including Cheryl, was consistent. This ensured us that we were working with professionals who treated us like their most important customer and I couldn’t ask for anything more. I know that if I require any more products or service with heating and cooling that I will not hesitate to call Spring Home. JOB WELL DONE!!!

    Viessmann Vitodens 100-W furnace and on demand hot water heater

    My furnace was tagged and shut down by gas man on Dec 8/15 That afternoon Cy ( salesman) came and decided what was best for my home. Dec 9th and 10th they installed the furnace. Great service and very respectful of home. When they left it was as if they were not here. Yesterday Feb 14/16 with the temperature -21 C I needed the system adjusted. They sent a service man immediately and had it adjusted to work with sub zero weather. Great sales and service. Would now go anywhere else.

    New Viessman Boiler Install

    Spring Home replaced our old boiler with a condensing Viessman boiler. George provided a competitive and very-detailed quote for the work and was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. He was courteous, accessible, and happy to answer all my questions. The two workers that installed my new system were polite, professional and detail-oriented. They didn't rush the job and the pride in the work was evident. I am happy they accommodated my request to layout the piping so that I gained a lot of storage space from my old system. We have been very happy with the installation and with everyone at Spring Home and would recommend them to others.
