I was given only one very expensive option for a shower fix. The option told to me was a complete shower reno for $8000.00 plus dollars. The job I called them for was to fix a leak and fix up tile job. I was told that this was not at all possible and the fix would require a complete shower overhaul and was a sizeable job with big labour cost attached. Understandable if this was really the only option.
However, since then I have heard from three other plumbers who have said it was incorrect information and that the job could definitely be done by fixing the leak and then retiled. We have since had the job done to our satisfaction by another plumber.
I also felt although I was handled nicely, that the lady who spoke with me was touchy and defensive when asked anything at all about a price or any differences in costs with various options. It was very strange. Was made to feel there was something wrong with asking anything at all. She said that was not how they do it. It is a fixed price by job and that is how we quote.
Regardless, the whole thing did not feel right and answers were evasive. Also hesitated in giving any kind of quote or estimate.
I am not saying the plumbing work is not good. I think it is. What I am saying is the information was very slanted in this case, with most expensive option the only one given and was told that there was no other way to deal with the shower AND the attitude of the person at the gallery was less than desirable due to some reason of their own making.
