King S&L Paving

We had a driveway done and the interlocking in our backyard done this year and we were very satisfied with the sales man Vito and the quality of service we received!I would highly recommend this company.

King S & L Paving, paved our driveway. Our contract
stated we were getting 3 inches of ashphalt, and we
were told we would have 24 months of warranty.
We discovered after 6 months parts of the driveway
had opened in serveral areas, other areas were
crumbling, and one major area has sunken down so
badly that when I drive in, I have to brake as if I were going over a speed bump.
My driveway is 1500ft long, and it was a fairly large paving job, and they ran out of ashpalt ??? when
they originally paved
We have now collected 2 bushells full of broken ashpalt pieces. The pieces are 1/2" thick, if that!!The driveway looks as if it is 20 years old, with cracks, holes and dips everwhere.
I contacted Vito from S & L Paving immediately. He said he would be out to have a look.
We did not hear from him. After calling him several times, he said he had indeed already been here to see the damages.
He said he would repair the damages around
the house, we found this odd as the damages were
not around the house they were elsewhere. He was not telling the truth,he infact did not even know where the problems were, as he did not even come out.
We scheduled at least 12 appointments with him and
S & L. No show, no call back, no appolgy!!
As it has been 2 1/2years of waiting for them
to come and repair the problems, we finaly spoke
to Salvatore Vancceri(owner) who promised it would be repaired by the end of June, 2009.

Today is July 12,2009 and we have not heard from them.

This is an unethical way to conduct business.

I want my money back!

I have had a couple of reputable
paving company's come out and access the problem, and
they all said the same thing, it needs to be all taken apart and repaved, it can not be repaired.

I WILL SEE KING S& L Paving IN COURT!!

As the previous writer had explained, they had promised that everything would be done promptly and correctly. We had specifically ask that it be done the same way that it was previously done a few years ago (by another contractor). We had requested that there would be a slope to ensure that the water would drain down properly into the road and that it would not affect our neighboroughs property.
Well first problem, they came on a Friday night after 6pm and quickly paved our driveway and left!
We noticed as they were doing it that they had added way to much sand. We tried to stop them and ask that they take out the sand. We knew that if they didn't the driveway would be too high! They told us not to worry that they knew what they were doing.
Now we are stuck with a driveway that is too high for city standards. No slope was done, where now we have pools of water in our driveway (after it rains) and mosquitoes everywhere from the puddles!
As well our neighborough is complaining that the water is draining into their basement windows and garden!
We had asked that they fix the problem. They promised that someone would come, and they have not contacted us since then!
Abosolute nightmare!
We are hearing from other members of the community that their driveways are a mess since King Paving has gone in and done work on their driveways.

I would not recommend a company like this. They do not know what they are doing!!!!

Things started very well. Out sales contact was knowledgeable and had moved from another company to King S&L so we followed him. He always returned calls promptly and responded to problems. The trouble started when we had them also do a concrete pad for our new garage as well as the paving of our driveway. They subcontracted the concrete.

They had us do many of the calls to this sub-contractor ourselves and he did not return calls and frequently did not show up for appointments. They laid the pad short on one end (not square) and patched it long on one end, still not square and left an uneven 1" lip of concrete in the rear doorway of our garage which remains a tripping hazard.

Still we calmly request service to fix it but time after time we were promised someone would come to fix it and they didn't. They had also laid our rear step crooked which we pointed out at the time and they argued with us, but eventually fixed it after the concrete dried.

Bottom line is: no one fixed the problem with the pad, no one admitted the problem even after a site visit, and we had to fight for a discount and compensation for tools we rented to fix the crooked pad ourselves. Overall VERY POOR customer service and after care... so beware, the sales pitch was "perfect" but after that it is "buyer beware".

Only planned on replacing the wooden curbing with concrete curbing but got a good deal if I did the driveway together with my neighbour.Driveways ripped up May 4/06 to be completed in 6-8 weeks, after numerous calls & broken promises paved Sept6/06. Driveway very flexible,a lot pitting, loosing a lot of sand, numerous rust spot (a screw has since dislodged from one of the rust spots)Two of the curbing blocks have also cracked. Wrote letter Nov 1/07 voicing my concerns no response to date.

When they ran into trouble we had a spell of them not returning our phone calls. (Also many no-shows on their part.) Finally, the job was done months later. We waited 5 days before parking on the driveway (King guys told us to wait 3). The morning after we did park on it for the first time, we were able to see (tiny) ruts from where the tires sat. We're living with it. Can't bear to call them again.

Poor workmanship, cheap materials mostly tar, hardly any stone, very soft driveway(mix),driveway cracked and dented within two months, empty promises for corrections.
Don't go for cheap price. Both sales or managment won't return phonecalls, or call back after five, six messages.
