Run the other direction!

Awful company and service. Every part of the process is painful once the home is built. They cut corners and are in offense of multiple violations but they will never fix anything. They told us that our unfinished stairs were supposed to be like that. It wasn’t until our 5th request that they sent an honest handyman who was in shock of what had been delivered as sold as finished. This is just one of 100 examples. After 3 years the whole house is falling apart and we are discovering new problems (e.g. vents that were improperly installed). No wonder they were cheaper than other builders. You get what you pay for I guess.

Never Buy a Mattamy Home

Terrible build, they cut corners and avoid resolving any problems. Had a leak from a tub that destroyed my ceiling. When it was identified that it was Mattamy's poor workmanship, they still denied any accountability and refused to make any repairs. Still in the process of reaching a resolution after about 1 year...

Building Code Violations

Have owned this two story town home in Stittsville for two years, Two building Code Violations….that I am aware of??? not something you just miss and obviously never inspected. 1) no self closing hinge on interior garage door (code 3.1.8.11) violation. 2) no P Trap under kitchen sink, code violation, sewage smell. still no action in behalf of builder. Can’t imagine how many other codes behind the walls that are violated. Quality of build is terrible all round. Buyer beware, stay away from any Mattamy Build!!!!!!
Anyone that owns one minimally check these two violations in your mattamy home

Worst quality & service

We have a roof problem, and we called them, they told us it’s not their responsibility, and then never send anyone to take a look. They told us it’s not in the scope of warranty, NEVER buy from them

A Terrible Home Builder.

Unacceptable by any building standards.

Poor workmanship, poor communication, and a terrible product. Simply put, this builder does not appear to have any quality control practices in place.

Once the home closed, it was (and continues to be) a battle trying to establish communication and resolve the hundreds of deficiencies. It is very apparent that this company and it's executives just don't care. Escalation to executives resulted in damage control, and promises that go completely unfulfilled.

Mattamy Homes should be held responsible for the burden they place on their paying customers. This has been nothing short of a nightmare for my wife and I.

I will never recommend this builder. Think twice before you even consider. Shame on you Mattamy Homes.

Worst decision to buy a house from them

I am the homeowner of a townhouse at wateridge village, and moved in Feb 2020.

On March 25, 2020, I submitted my 30-day form. According to the latest letter I received from Tarion, the Builder repair period for warranted items for my 30-day Form ends on Mar 22, 2021. However, by today, July 26, 2021, after the repair period has passed 4 months and 4 days, and after one year and 4 months living here, there are still 37 unsolved items on the 30-day Form.

On Feb 25, 2021, Mattamy’s warranty manager XXX visited my home to review consolidation items. He took photos of all warranty items and told me he or Emily will send a plan for the repair work either the same day or the second day. However, it did not happen although I followed up on Feb 26. On Mar 1, I received an email replying “I am reviewing XXX report and will be in touch with a plan to schedule the remaining work.” however I got nothing as Apr 5. After waiting for more than a month, I emailed and willing to schedule a virtual meeting to discuss the repair plan. On Apr 8, YYY replied “I apologize for my delayed response it looks like my email to you has been stuck in my outbox! My coworker, ZZZZ has taken over your conciliation file and will be in touch to schedule in next steps if she hasn't already ”.

On Apr 9, 2021, I had a virtual meeting with coordinator ZZZ. During the meeting, ZZZ explained she has reviewed all items and she said most of the items will be fixed within a month and only the stair repairing may only start from the end of May. On Apr 13, ZZZ sent work orders to the external trades for most items. On Apr 20, Mattamy’s technician HHH visited my home to assess a few items. He fixed a few items and he mentioned he can repair a few more items next time when he gets the parts he needs. However, after that day, no trade or Mattamy’s technician visited my home. On May 4, I got the impression most of the items on my 30-Day Form would be fixed by this day, however, it did not happen and still more than 40 outstanding items. I followed up in an email asking if Mattamy’s technician HHH can come back to fix a few more items and ask about the schedule of trades. Unfortunately, no one replies to the email. I followed up again on May 11 and called a few times in May. No answer after transfer to my coordinator and no one called my phone back. In June, after received an email from another coordinator to schedule a trade appointment with me, I figured out Jessica no longer works for Mattamy Homes. YYYY is overseeing your file now. I was disappointed for no one just notify me when my coordinator changed, and I have to figure it out by myself.

In June and July, I have called Mattamy’s warranty office multiple times on different days trying to reach my coordinator and the manager. Before phone transferring, the person always took my name and number. Unfortunately, after phone transferring, I always end up with voicemail and I never received a phone calling back to me. After trying times and feeling very frustrated.

Expensive Oakville Houses without quality inspection

After delivery dozens of issues; no matching stain with hardwood, cheap carpet, broken exterior bricks, missing shingles, aluminum sliding on sides was not done, leaking wash rooms, floor tiles in kitchen keep breaking, squeaks and vibration all over, kitchen cabinets ripping apart etc. No professional customer service every time sends newbies who have no experience of plumbing or electrical issues and blames owners for the faults. Never done any quality inspection before delivery just ripping off customers for charging millions for doll houses built in haste

Everything broken or loose!

Horrible craftsmanship. BASICALLY: Handles, towel handles, toilet paper handles, cabinet handles are all lose or fall off. Such cheap plastic material! Centre railing wall loose, balcony wood cracking after 1 year and balcony leaking into garage. Wooden floors already making noises. Crap appliances! I can go on but lets leave it to this—stay far away from Mattamy.

cheap material

The condo was build in 2015, and there’s already a very serious water leaking problem.

Rusted pipes in many parking locations

There has been water leaking 3 times within 2 years in my unit, the most recently was a pipe burst.

Sad experience

I have nothing good to say. The sales team passes my emails to service department. The service department does not respond to my emails. We found out that Mattamy did not pay their share of property tax and now Oakville town is after us for the April installment plus penalty. The contractors pass the issues to the 30 day warranty team. The whole company is about passing the blame while the buyers sit and wait . There is no quality control over their subcontractors.
