Hardwood Floor Refinishing

We decided to have our old oak hardwood floors refinished this past fall. The quote process and booking was with NewRidge was easy and pricing was fare. They communicated the plan with us in advance and answered all our questions/concerns. They were professional and arrived on time as scheduled. We did not know exactly what colour we wanted the stain so Sebastien was very helpful showing us some options on our actual floor and made us feel confident in our decision.

We vacated the house while they did the work (*absolute must) and they were on time doing 3 floors (~ 800 sq ft) in four days including sanding, stain and 2 clear coats. House stunk afterwards and I recommend staying out for several days after at least to air it out.

My advice is if your are considering redoing your floors, do it! We love our new floors and we we did it 5 years ago. Downsides are it is a lot of work to move all of your stuff out of the rooms they are working and it is messy! Plan on a day in advance to move everything out of where they are working. As well, several days after to clean up dust (walls need to be vacuumed, washed and windows vacuumed, etc.) before anyhting can be moved back in. As well, all of the trim was damaged as expected my sanders and stains and it needed to be touched up. If you aren't handy or willing to do the cleaning/panting I would suggest to NewRidge to offer this VIP service for an extra charge.

Overall, very happy customer and I would recommend this company and refinishing old floors in general.

Approximate cost of services:
$4,000.00
