colour design for a 7-bedroom Victorian house

I knew from my sister that Janice was a colour genius but she had just started colour consulting when Ian and I bought our beautiful seven- bedroom Victorian house in 1995. Since we have lots of family and friends, entertain frequently and both work from home, the house really was the setting for our whole lives, and it was important to get it right.

Janice encouraged us to paint the generous front hall a deep, welcoming Indian red. From here, the living room and dining room appeared luminous and large. We painted my office a vibrant watermelon red, and Janice designed two sexy chaise-longue couches to fit foot-to-foot along the vast expanse of long windows.
Initially my husband was reluctant to go along with Janice's more adventurous recommendations for the public rooms in the house (she gave us choices), but over time, he warmed to the idea.

Colour is so exquisitely personal but we always felt that Janice opened up our eyes and hearts to the great enrichment that colour could make to our lives. As a result, it was no surprise to us at all that she went on to invent a wonderful career for herself, to the benefit of many more clients.
