Two Men And A Truck

Synopsis:
1. Communication is poor at best
2. Lack of communication and not very efficient at scheduling move and packing dates
3. THERE PACKERS AND MOVERS STINK OF SMOKE

8. They don't listen to instructions

1. After sending an e-mail at the end of May of this year I was e-mailed back in which the e-mail told me to call contact 2 men and a truck by phone for a quote. I called, asked for Jean Bimm, and she was unavailable at that time. I asked her colleague to provide my contact information to Jean Bim to return my call. I didn't hear back from anyone at all until I followed up with another e-mail and phone call. This is frustrating when it is not an easy process to give a company money for services. I persisted as I had heard they were a good company and thought this would be the only negative experience I would have!

2. When booking my move, me and my fiancé had been told that Wednesday July 27th was available for packers, July 28th was available for the move and July 29th for unpackers. We rebooked our patients and clients that we had already booked on the 29th, and then received a call back saying that the Friday was unavailable. This was rather frustrating as we had already made arrangements to contact all our clients to reschedule them for Friday and then had to reschedule them again after we were unable to book the unpackers for that date.

3. The packers and movers all completely stunk of smoke. We could smell it in our house that we moved out of after they left as well as our house we moved into after they left. We were unpacking a few boxes and could smell smoke in the boxes upon opening them. Not only is this quite gross, my fiancé has smoke allergies and is very sensitive to smoke, and had to take her puffers while the movers and packers were there.

4. Not only did the movers break the fence at our place we were moving out of with the truck, when I called this past Friday to follow up on the accident report, management was unavailavle and even though the assistant had said a call back to myself and the landlord of our place we were moving out of would be completed by end of day, I still haven't heard back. This is quite annoying coupled with the first communication errors in number 1. Upon writing this review I still have not heard of anything.

5. 2 of the movers were already in the truck by 6:00pm and the driver jumped into the truck by 6:10. The time sheet says 6:15pm. They were definately stretching on this one as the head mover and driver talked to us for about 10min at the end of the move... which we were charged for.

6. We paid for the movers lunch. I also contacted 2 men and a truck by phone on Friday and was told that a followup phone call would be done by close of that day. No follow-up was made.

7. Legs were broken off of one of our benches. Even though my fiancé signed that no damage was done, she just didn't want to deal with it at that moment.

8. We also called to let the drivers know NOT to take River Road due to consturction. They took part of River Road and we were charged for the entire drive to our new place.

10. We were also quoted 8 hours and the move took over 10 hours, even though I had already made 6 trips with my pick-up truck full of our possessions each time. On multiple occasions we saw the 2 young movers dawdling and carrying 1 small thing instead of being more efficient.

I would highly recommend Two Men and a Truck. We had the movers twice in the span of a week to move our home, then our piano. The service was excellent and the staff, both office and the movers were very courteous, helpful and respectful. Great job. I would definitely use Two Men and a Truck again (not that I plan to move again. Ever.) :)

I've moved a lot but this was by far the best experience I've ever had. Lucas & his crew arrived right on time and had us loaded, moved and unloaded in Elliot Lake in 12 hours. They were professional, smart and polite and my husband and I have no reservations about recommending Two Men and a Truck.

When our movers arrived, they assessed the work and started right away! They finished a little early which was a bonus for all of us! They payed attention to detail and were very friendly!

The movers were great and I would definitely recommend them and use them again. With all these horror stories of companies ripping people off and holding their stuff for ransom, that is why I chose your company, peace of mind I was getting a reliable, trustworthy company.

I recently moved my home and found that Jessie and Fabian the movers were caring, polite, considerate and very careful with my things. The quote I was given by George was almost accurate and the office staff was caring and polite. I would highly recommend this company to anyone moving.

After further discussion with the franchisee he agreed the situation was badly handled and has agreed to donate the discrepancy in price to charity, Habitat for humanity

First time I have written an online review, I am hoping the franchisee will read this as well as potential customers.
I had booked a small move of household furniture and had detailed contents over the phone with the Hamilton Office, we agreed on price oand I paid my deposit. Movers arrived on time and were careful moving furniture etc. Everything was going well. Then I was handed the work order, after they had already loaded the truck. The work order now quoted $950, $400 above agreed price. I told the movers it must just be a mistake and I went to call office to alert them of the error

This is when everything changed. The man answered said he checked the order and everything was fine, and I should have been given order before move started I indicated that I had agreed to a price almost 1/3 less. He just kept reiterating that "we charge $130 an hour" and that I must have misunderstood.

I was then told that they had emailed me twice the date of agreement with the quote, I did not receive this, checked junk and deleted folders ... nothing

He again went on to tell me another 10 times about their daily rate and if I didn't like it they would leave my furniture in garage and leave. I asked for 5 minutes to think over options and rang back. I asked to speak with the manager and was told he was on phone to the movers at my house, interesting because I could see the movers and they were not on the phone

The manager came to phone after 5 minutes, listened to my story and then repeated the $130 rate. I said I felt like I was been " done over" but I was willing to reach a compromise and clear up issue. Again I got the $130 line and they were not going to compromise. I said they could then just drop my furniture now in truck back into garage. He then said they were going to keep furniture until they were paid..... now they have my furniture, my deposit and I would have been charged 550 to have my furniture moved to my garage. Really felt I was been held to ransom, I guess I should have called the police to clarify issue. I told movers to go ahead and complete the move.

Then I was told this is not the first time this has happened!!!! And the girl who formulated the contract had been fired ! Wow! I do believe in Karma and believe if you deceive your customers you will eventually lose
Lesson-- ensure you see a written contract from these " movers"

Great service all around. I called last minute to move my Mom into a nursing home. Drivers were quick and efficient. They did what ever I asked! Would most definately use them again.

Great service. The movers were fantastic. I've been dreading my move for months now but from start to finish I was thoroughly impressed with the service. The man that came for my estimate was very professional and always available to answer any questions I had leading up to my moving day. I have already recommended Two Men and a Truck to my friend and will certainly recommend in the future!
