I stupidly did not check reviews for this company to my regret. He appears very sincere but I have learned not to believe a word he says. We paid far too much for a door that does not match our order. Paid by e-transfer ( at his insistence) do cant get a refund.

Quoted my 83 year old mother in law, took $1000 deposit, never came back! Called salesman and he said he couldn’t get his paycheque either .... she has lost her money and did not get any service. This happened in St. Catharines last year

November 23, 2020 Update - I contact the Niagara Regional Police to file a report on Gehres Windows and Doors. This company took my money and did not deliver my windows. We paid Gehres Windows and Doors Ltd. $4,000 back in March 2020 for windows. They gave us every excuse why the windows weren't ready when expected and strung us along for months. We found the windows with another company and asked for our money back. The owner said he could not get our windows and did not have our money to return. Reading these reviews makes me wonder how many people he has done this to - taking deposits with no intent on ordering the product. We are proceeding with small claims court.

Paid deposit of $8500 for our order, but after many months of non-delivery, excuses and stories from the owner Dan, we contacted the manufacturer directly and paid them for our order so that they would release & ship it. The deposit....gone!

I went with Gehres because I could literally walk to their shop in 5 minutes but what a mistake that was! After reordering the Windows 3 times, over several months, they still weren’t the right size. They left me without inside frames for several months and nothing was sealed so my home was exposed to the elements as well. I ended up hiring contractors to finish the job. I’m grateful I didn’t pay them in full at the beginning of the job. Bad experience.

We put a $8900.00 deposit down on custom patio doors. After waiting four months for our door to come in we finally figured out the order would never be filled. Wanted our money back the owner said no. The manufacturer told us Gehres owes them money for the product and many other contracts as well. He just took the money. Hope I can get into small claims court before they declare bankruptcy.
Stay away from this company.

We are having a very unpleasant experience with the company. They took the deposit and nothing happened as of yet. When we ask about the status of the doors or a date of the installation, the messages we get are unclear and confusing. We definitely regret choosing this company.

We put a $3500.00 deposit down on a $5000.00 custom door. After waiting six months for our door to come in we asked for our money back. The owner said no. Then we found out from the manufacturer Gehres isn't even a dealer for their product. He just took the money and let us wait. We have been through the Better Business Bureau and the Ministry of consumer affairs with no results. Now we are in small claims court. It's been a year and a half. Shop elsewhere.
