Our old skylight was leaking and caused some damage inside our home. The quality and the skill of the workmanship was apparent from the first meeting with the owner Denis to the final stages of the work of the installation. It was a quality installation (caulking and painting , insulation, new fan, greater energy efficiency). The work was carried out with care, in a timely manner and respectful of our home and schedules.

We had Skylights Unlimited fix our leaking Skylights earlier this month, and it was a great pleasure to have their services. They were prompt, reasonable, and did a superb job - using the best of materials - on all of our needed repairs. What impressed us the most was their flexibility and their willingness to make other smaller repairs that also needed to be done, without ever pushing the matter - being only interested in doing what had to be done to finish the job properly. In particular, they included plastering damaged walls(at small extra cost) , which many roofing/skylight companies do not bother to do.

Very impressed with Skylights Unlimited - they were quick, gave my a reasonable quote and scheduled the work in a short window of time. Even when there were problems found with the previous skylight install (they hadn't properly framed it), they were able to repair the (pretty serious) problem at only a small extra cost.

I had a six year old 4x4 acrylic skylight from Artistic Domes that developed a four foot crack. After talking to the company and getting nowhere, since it was past the five year warranty, I decided to replace it with a Velux . I called Skylights Unlimited after finding their name on the Velux.ca website and Denis came by my house a few days later to give me a quote. He was a great to deal with, I felt he answered questions honestly and the quote was reasonable.

I decided to go ahead and the install was done by the next week. The final result looked great and the install was clean. Their crew was courteous and showed up on time. Over all I was very pleased and will be calling them when my other acrylic skylight eventually fails.

Had an extremely low quality skylight installed by the original builder that let in great light, but did nothing to prevent the heat from coming in as well. So we went with an electric open energy efficient Velux and we couldn't be happier with the impact it has had on the heat coming into the house. Plus with the rain sensor, there are no worries about making sure we close it before leaving for the day.

However, after having the skylight installed and electric hookup completed in early June, it was discovered that the integrated shade was not functioning / installed incorrectly. I'm not sure why Skylights Unlimited didn't come out themselves to investigate / resolve the problem, but instead I was directed to contact Velux customer service.
After 5 weeks of having to call customer support each week, the issue has still had no action taken to resolve it. Being told 'We will be out there next week for sure' is just adding to the frustration and disappointed.

If this issue had been handled with a minimum of professionalism 5 weeks ago, it would have been an easy 10 ranking. But instead I have to provide a very dissatisfied ranking until someone actually addresses this problem.

UPDATE
Seems that after posting this message, I received a few calls from Velux and Skylights Unlimited to address my problem. Had representatives from Velux come to the house, and in 15 minutes that had re-aligned the shade so it was installed and working correctly. Have everything working as it should have and am enjoying the ability to block out that bright early morning sunlight.
Upgraded my ranking score as originally said, I was very happy with the skylight, it was the customer service experience issue to address the shade that was unacceptable (Shouldn't take over 5 weeks to finally get someone to come to the house to fix a problem that ultimately only needed 15mins to address)

So far, I am pleased with the skylight that Skylights Unlimited installed. Despite the heavy rainfalls last spring season, I don't see any leakage. It does give me peace of mind, whenever a storm comes.

I am very pleased with my skylight. I am sure to save on energy costs as the top floor is now cooler. The service was excellent, on time and courteous.

We asked Skylights Unlimited to give us a quote to replace two damaged/leaky skylights. We had seen the company working on a neighbour's skylights, and the neighbour was happy with their services. Owner Denis Charron came promptly to give a quote. His explanation of the work required was remarkably clear and detailed. The work itself was done in a timely manner, workers were unobtrusive, cleaned up at the end.
Denis Charron had told me that the new skylights would reduce the heat gain on the top floor of the house. Indeed, he is correct, we are pleasantly surprised at how much cooler the top floor of the house is even on a hot day. Denis' prediction about our AC working better after the new skylights now has come true!

It's been about a year since we had our new skylights installed by Skylights Unlimited, and my only regret is that we did not do it sooner! Instead of two leaky old "bubble"-style skylights that acted as a magnifying glass on the third floor of our townhouse, making it uninhabitable all summer, we now have two good-looking, watertight insulated skylights with blinds that make our upstairs room usable all year round. The difference in temperature is amazing. Even better, one of the skylights opens to let in fresh air. And I just love the remote-control blind. It's a joy to sit and read under the skylights now, rain or shine.
The Skylights Unlimited team made the whole experience painless from start to finish, from the initial estimate through to the installation and cleanup. They were friendly, efficient and their work was immaculate. They know their product and make it clear why it's an excellent value. I highly recommend them as the go-to choice for skylights.

We had skylights installed just when the company started and they were great although when we had the roof done shortly after they leaked. The roofers blamed the Skylights and the Skylight company blamed the roofers therefore they leaked for awhile.

Eventually we had them replaced by the same company. It was obvious circumstances had changed with the company as work was outsourced the skylights were basically placed where the existing ones had been without bothering to make it look nice. Also none of the differences in the product were explained as they are now glass the look dirty all the time, the rain is loud and because they are flat the quality of light is inferior. If you have a bubble skylights don't get rid of them..in my opinion they are superior to the glass flat skylights. BUT they don't leak..that was truly horrible.

All in all there was minimal attention to detail and no personal service only weeks after installation they called us to find out if we wanted to replace our skylights. I think they were drumming up business from old lists of customers. We have cracks appearing and when we called they said to just fill it in with a little crack filler. Nice.
