We've hired him a couple of times, and while his opinions could make you look closely at such a big purchase, imho you need to know what you can and can't live with as it relates to potential future repairs. In one instance, he cautioned us on a home we had an accepted offer on and we ended up walking away due to the expensive repairs needed. Found out later that same home we walked away from, ended up selling for tens of thousands of dollars below our offer. The final home we ended up purchasing didn't get a perfect score from him either, but was way better than the other homes he helped us vet. He also provides a detailed report with pictures/diagrams. Overall would highly recommend for seasoned home buyers that have owned/maintained a home before, or for first time home buyers that absolutely want to know everything.
