windows replacement

Originally we had our 5 windows replaced in July 2005. In December 2010 I noticed strange streaks in the windows - all except for one. The company that installed the windows referred me to Hometech Windows. After a couple of months' wait the windows were replaced, no problem. At that time we were charged $75.00 labour charge which I thought was reasonable and I paid, no problem. At this point I was quite satisfied with their service. However, in July this year I noticed that one of the windows they replaced two years ago (broken seal) was failing again along with the window that was not replaced originally. I contacted them, spoke to Antonella. She was not as pleasant as first time around, took my information and said she'd get back to me. When I didn't hear from her for about 2 weeks I called back and was told the same thing. So, I waited again. After another couple of weeks I once again called back and was told yet again that they're very busy and she hadn't had time to check into it. When I insisted she said she couldn't even find our records in their system. I provided her over the phone with the name, address, phone number, I even gave her the invoice # of their own invoice to no avail. After I told her that I have all the copies in front of me she asked that I email them to her. I did so right away. Towards the end of August I received a phone call that someone would be in the area and that I should call back to set up an appointment. Needless to say I was pleased! Unfortunately not for long. When I called back Antonella said that the windows can be replaced and that the charge would be $240.00+tax. I was shocked. I don't mind paying for a good service, but I find an increase from $75.00 to $240.00 unreasonable! I even spoke to the owner and he informed me that they changed the way they charge for labour and that's all. I was and still am very upset. And what if the window fails again in the future? I'm very disappointed with the way they're handling this matter and am seriously considering having the windows replaced by another company. I'd rather pay someone whose product I can rely on.

Approximate cost of services:
$250.00
