Ekko Cabinetry

We have just completed a major renovation on our home including knocking down walls and ceilings. For the rebuild, we had Ekko Cabinetry do the beautiful design and install their outstanding product in my kitchen and three bathrooms. The quality of my cabinets are far superior than I have seen in other recent renovations by different suppliers. Good product is important to the finished look of a project but equally important is the service that stands behind the product. Ekko Cabinetry staff was outstanding with the service they provided me. Each staff member involved in the project paid particular attention to every detail and regarded their involvement with utmost importance. I was impressed with their diligence to timing and delivery and felt they respected all my demands every step of the way. Not only did Ekko Cabinetry meet all my demands but they exceeded what they were expected to do. During the final finishing stage, everyone at Ekko was still determined to give a little extra to the project. I found this store to be both professional and high quality kitchen cabinets. Scott Hunter that helped us pick out our kitchen design was one of the best we have found in the industry. We have had two kitchens done by EKKO now, one for our condo and the latest one for our Calgary home. The whole EKKO Team did a spectacular kitchen renovation for us. We are ecstatic about it in every way, and couldn’t be more pleased!
It was a pleasure working with the Team from start to finish, as they were always open, responsive and accommodating of all our requirements. The only difficulty we had was picking the cabinetry from their large selection of quality cabinets, but that isn’t a complaint, but a compliment. Their personal approach to our kitchen renovation provided us with the necessary confidence at every step and they certainly know what they’re doing. We had a high degree of comfort knowing we were working with an honest, reputable company, which ultimately provided us with real value for the money spent.
We were especially impressed by all of the people -- without exception. From our initial conversation with Erin about our needs, her innovative design, until final installation by Stan, it couldn’t have been better. The attention to detail was so much appreciated because we are really picky people.
We would be most pleased to recommend EKKO for any kitchen renovation, as at the end of the day we are much more than pleased with all aspects of our kitchen!

Working with Ekko was a great experience. Starting the project of renovating my kitchen was fairly daunting but their team of designers let me see what my space could become. I was very happy with choices made available to me and the final design and product selection. The instalation process went quickly and smoothly and the end result is a kitchen I am very proud of!

After being very pleased with the efforts and ideas of the design team at Ekko, it was a huge disappointment when the first sets of cabinets arrived. They were scratched right through the packaging, many pieces were marred on the surfaces, (even the door fronts,) some pieces were the wrong size, some had badly fabricated laminate, pock marks, you name it. The installer handled the cabinets very roughly, further marking them. Many pieces were going to need to be reordered, and although we wanted to return the entire kitchen, Ekko insisted that we should "just let them install it." Reluctantly, we did, and now regret it. After 6 months, and some pieces being reordered up to 6 times (I'm not kidding,) we finally had to cut our losses, and finish the job ourselves, after 3 remaining gables arrived with drips of lacquer and "chatter" marks on them that we just couldn't tolerate being installed. ( Ekko's answer was to reorder them a 7th time!)
We sourced and installed the remaining gables ourselves, had them installed ourselves, finished all the touch-ups and re-levelled/rebalanced all doors and drawers that required it. There was a lot, and of course, we had to pay for all this in addition to the original fee we paid to Ekko. The only compensation they're willing to give us is 10% off the total cost, which we feel is inadequate considering what we're left with and the 6 months it took.
Ekko's cabinet supplier is Norcraft in Winnipeg, and it is our understanding they've recently stopped using them. That's a bit too late for us. We wished Ekko would have taken responsibility for the quality of the product and it's installation at the beginning of this journey, as they were acting as Norcraft's representative.

If we had to do this over again, I'd not be as enamored of the design phase of the kitchen cabinetry, and ask more questions and seek references for the actual product and it's installation.
