Eavestrough and downspout replacement.

UPDATE: I've revised my earlier assessment of Royal Crown after being pleasantly surprised by their recent follow-up service. Although my initial experience with Royal Crown (and its aftermath) left something to be desired, they recently contacted me in an effort to address a number of concerns.

This time around, the company sent a new assessor/estimator, Eni, who was tremendously professional, kind, courteous, and thorough in both his explanation of various potential problem areas and the repairs he conducted on our downspout. Both he and Rachel, the acting office manager, were lovely and thoughtful, and followed up to ensure that the work was complete and to make sure I wasn't left with remaining questions or concerns.

Although I was dismayed by our previous miscommunications and by aspects of the work that was done, I have to say that Royal Crown has made a tremendous effort to rectify the situation, and I would recommend them based on the quality of their repairs and their recent customer service.

Eavestrough and downspout replacement.

We've had ongoing issues with Royal Crown Aluminum—like many others who've posted here, I should note that this company does a pretty poor job of communicating in a thorough and timely manner. Last year, with our eavestroughs in a state of disrepair, I'd asked RCA what it would cost to replace the existing gutters and downspouts. After some delay, I received a competitive quote, one that convinced us to contract the company. They showed up to do the job...and began to wrap up once they'd worked on the front of our house—the back was, mysteriously, left intact. When I inquired about the remaining gutters and downspouts, I was informed that the quote was only for the front of the house, and that the back could be tacked on for an additional fee—one that jacked up the price well beyond the original quote. I was frustrated, but chalked it up to a misunderstanding.

Since then, I've had some concerns about the work that was done—for example, we currently have a downspout that, due to an awkward (and according to a competitor, poorly thought out) initial installation, is hanging off our house at a precarious angle and has become dislodged from its elbow. I've contacted RCA to inquire about having them address the issue, as this area is still under warranty, but have received no reply. This has happened on several other occasions. (In contrast, a different eavestrough company whom I'd hired to deal with an issue that was unresolved by RCA's initial service responded within hours when I contacted them earlier this year.)

I want to have faith in both their work and customer service, but the quality of both the job that was done and the responses to my queries has been very poor. I would advise prospective clients to investigate other options—RCA is dodgy at best.
