Mole(s) continue to destroy backyard

Mole hills magically appeared in our yard this Summer, yep oddly not in anyones yard around us, so we decided to call a professional...or so we thought.

Terry came and set one trap and put out a few poisonous fake worms, and also took our cheque. At first I thought things may be alright, however things didn't go well.

He found out that the one trap he set had dirt pushed into it and never put any more down. Instead he chose to put more of the worms down in hopes the little guy(s) would get poisoned.

That never happened.

To make things more frustrating, I was advised to contact him when I saw activity instead of him coming around and checking on things...which is okay to a point, but when you get a couple months in and nothing has changed and you know the person you paid money to do a job simply is not doing it, well then it's a big problem.

If that wasn't bad enough, more mole hills kept raising and we couldn't even reach Terry for over a month. To be a bit fair, we were told he was on vacation and then also something happened via family. That said, to have nobody else take over in his absence and leave us waiting while our yard is destroyed is incredibly unprofessional.

We were told there was a 3 month window for him to come back and take care of anything if the mole(s) came back, however the whole 3 months were taken up by nothing good happening and many holes kept happening.

I contacted Terry and tried to express how disappointed we were with the service, but was so unimpressed by his response that I couldn't be bothered to have him come back to the house again.

Despite being Winter I still see the odd new hole raise up and adding itself to the 30+ that are already there and spreading further across the lawn with each new hill.

I really feel that a refund should have been offered in this instance, but seeing as this professional is anything but, I'll have to settle for warning others and hope that nobody else goes through this too.

I'd leave photos, but today we have some freshly fallen snow. I'll try and remember to upload when I can get a good photo again.

Approximate cost of services:
$395.00

Company Response

Hey Jonathan,

We appreciate your feedback. We no longer offer services for moles, voles, or schrews in our area. Reason being is because it wasn't uncommon for other mole jobs to turn out like yours in terms of a success rate. Jobs were taking far too long and success was rare which obviously upset customers and us too!
