We did extensive renos in our home and therefore wanted to get our ducts cleaned. Based on the reviews I called Cosmopolitan they gave me a quote over the phone of $300 for complete duct cleaning. When the technician arrived the first thing he did was look at the furnace when he took the cover off he began to tell me that it was going to cost extra for cleaning various parts of the furnace. I didn't ask for the furnace to be cleaned - he said he can't properly do the duct cleaning without cleaning all the other parts of the furnace....ok I agreed to a total of $550 including new filter. But then he started to go around the house and blow all the dust and debris from my ducts all over my house using a small air compressor. When I asked him about all the dust that was coming out he told me to get some books and cover the vents to stop the dust from coming out....what??? Then he brought in the vacuum hose, he placed it loosely on the floor in front of my furnace and went back to blow air through the vents upstairs. This caused all the dust from my vents and runs to come out all over my house. It was a complete nightmare. Not to mention the damaged baseboard corners that he did by pulling his hoses though the house. It was just terrible, he had no idea what he was doing. Finally I asked him to stop. After he left I called the company right away and explained what had happened, they told me a supervisor would come out to take a look. When the supervisor came he walked around the house and agreed that the job should not have been done like this. He said he was very sorry and that he was going to talk to his boss...ok. I never heard from them again. It took me 2 days to clean up after the mess he left. TERRIBLE experience!
