We've been needing our gas fireplaces serviced for several years, and with the pandemic/lockdown, we had put it off for too long. One fireplace no longer turned on, and we wanted to enjoy them over the coming winter. So I turned to Homestars to determine who to call.

I called two places, but decided on Imran at Gas Fireplace Services because I liked that he was a one-man company and not a big firm, which I felt meant he would likely care about his work.

Turns out: I was right. Imran is very meticulous, friendly, reliable and provides truly excellent service. He fixed our non-functioning fireplace, cleaned up the rocks (even laying down fresh sand) and relaid the logs - it really looks beautiful and brand new. I was very pleased with the work and we will definitely call him for yearly service. Highly recommend without reservation.

Highly recommend Imran from Gas Fireplace Service if you need to get your fireplace repaired. My pilot light had gone out and the whole thing was corroded and dirty. The photos speak for themselves, but the after picture still doesn't do it justice. All the corroded parts were replaced, new sensors installed, everything that was gray is now 4 coats of matte black, cobwebs and dust are gone from even the stones. The thing not only looks great, but it NOW WORKS! I HAVE FIRE!

Both of our gas fireplaces are about 20 years old and we did a poor job of maintaining them, so they both stopped working. We called Imran and he was very prompt in setting up a service call to give us estimates. He was also very quick in setting up a day for the service jobs. Fixed both up and set up the bedroom one with a remote control. The other fireplace was in very bad shape but Imran worked very hard to save it from being scrapped. Imran did an excellent job and now both fireplaces are like new. He also gave us some tips on how to ensure that they continue to work well. Imran is very professional , courteous and efficient. Excellent service and highly recommended. We will be calling Imran for yearly maintenance checks from now on!

Our existing gas fireplace wasn’t working properly. Fortunately, we called Imran. He did a thorough job cleaning the unit and replaced the remote and receiver. Imran took the time to answer our questions and explained the different features to us. Our fireplace is now working perfectly and looks better than before. Our fireplace had not been usable for years. We were told it needed to be completely replaced — at an eye-watering cost. Imran arrived in good time, with all his tools, disassembled the fireplace, inspected and cleaned every part, and left it in perfect working order. Imran took the time to understand and diagnose the problem with our fireplace. Being new homeowners, we had so many tell us that they couldn't help us with our fireplace and had some not even return a phone call.

Imran diagnosed a few potential issues but was more concerned that we get the most value for our money. He was very honest and it's not often that you find his type of mindset especially in the business / trades world. Most people try and find how they can make a quick buck!

He offered to replace a part and that if it works we wouldn't have to undergo the expense of replacing the whole fireplace as we had originally been told to.

He took his time, dismantled the fireplace, cleaned every part and replaced what he felt in his expert opinion was necessary - thank God it worked and I am not sitting in my office cozy to the fire place going next to me!

This was a huge bonus because it eliminates the need for multiple services calls. Great experience all around.

Imram has been servicing our fireplace yearly for the past 9 years. From our first encounter when he got our fireplace working again after we took possession of our condo, to the last service to the fireplace a couple of weeks ago, we have appreciated his knowledge, his workmanship, his professionalism. A few months ago, the front glass on my 20 year old fireplace suddenly shattered and was unusable. After going to Homestars website I found wonderful reviews for Imran and so called him and left a message. Imran called me back very quickly and we discussed my issue and arranged for him to visit. Due to its age, replacing the glass in the existing fireplace would have been expensive and so we decided to replace the fireplace. Imran was so responsive and addressed all my concerns. He is very knowledgeable with many years of experience and worked so hard on my fireplace and did a very professional job. He is a very caring person and went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with my fireplace, and I would highly recommend him.

We were having problems with our gas fireplace shutting off all the time on its own. We called in Imran, who had helped us in the past as well. He replaced the sensor and we thought that was the end of it. The fire was not burning as it should and Imran recognized immediately that we had a blockage in our chimney - though we were a bit skeptical, we kept testing the fireplace on warmer days (it was late winter at this point). He insisted there was ice in the chimney that just needed to melt. He followed up numerous time on the phone and came to check on the flame once or twice. After about a month of waiting for the ice to melt, voila! He was right and the fireplace has never burned so reliably. We purchased a remote control from him and that is such a treat! Imran didn't ask for a final payment until we were completely satisfied. Such a professional.
