Fairbairn Home And Building Inspection

I was referred to David by my real estate agent. David was professional, super thorough and explained everything as we walked through the condo together. I have never gone through a home inspection before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Was a great experience and I feel confident making this real estate purchase!

Fairbairn Home & Building Inspection was recommended to me by a Friend of a Friend. It was over the Xmas Holidays and I had a very tight closing time and David agreed to meet me on short notice.
Our Meeting time was 0930 AM and David was already waiting for me and had started his exterior inspection.
I had asked If my Realtor could accompany me and David encouraged it (which isn't always the case).
The inspection took over 3 hours and we covered everything from roof, parking, storage, boiler rooms, electrical, and then went to the unit.
To sum up….
David walked me through the inspection with a respect and professionalism that I appreciate.
I'm the 1st to admit I don't necessarily know what Red Flags could mean in the long or short term, but I came away today with a better knowledge of my new home.

David Fairbairn inspected our brand new house and we were very satisfied with his service. Not only he inspected every corner of the house thoroughly and carefully, he also gave us a lot of information about things that we never had an didn't know how to operate and maintain (e.g., the HRV). His expertise and knowledge is broad (I am an engineer myself and I could tell he knows what he is talking about!). He is also equipped with the latest gadgets that a good inspector must have. Definitely recommended!

I found David Fairbairn on the Internet and after reading the reviews and visiting his website, I decided to give him a try because I liked the reviews and how his sample report looked and that his background and experience seemed extensive.

David called me shortly after I submitted an online inspection request and he sounded genuine on the phone and he arrived on site on time for our appointment. I found David very personable and he let me follow him on the comprehensive inspection that he did and was very willing to share his knowledge and educate me on what is considered acceptable and what needs fixing.

At the end of the inspection, I got the report while he was still on site and it came with pictures, explanations of the problems and his recommendations for the repairs.

I was able to pay for his reasonable fee by credit card and he even recommended a list of contractors I could call if I decided to have the work done myself.

Overall, I am very satified with David's service, expertise and professionalism and I I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good home inspector.

I was buying a 26 year old condo and David was very diligent and thorough in checking the condo and other areas of the building. I asked for the thermal scanning so I could tell the areas where they may have been previous water damage. The reports were comprehensive and I got a copy of all photos and thermal images. David also patiently explained the report and all the potential problems more than once and answered more of my questions later in the week. While doing the inspection he also fixed a couple of minor problems detected at no extra cost. I was very happy with the service and I will surely recommend him to others.
