Penguin basement is one of the rare company in Toronto that have a basement showcase. In fact, this was how I found them out while I was thinking about finishing my basement. The whole process was good and friendly, they shared the progress with you frequently and I was well-informed. One minor comment is that after the initial setup of the project planning in the tool it would be nice if it can update more frequently if there is any delay. However, it is still a step up from others vendor that my friends used before.
They also assigned a designer with you to plan your basement. This is really useful for us before it helped us to make a difficult decision where we struggled with to make the basement look spacious.
The price is a bit higher than the average but you get what you paid for.
The follow up process is also a nice touch. A good thing about that is you can even report to them any defect after the project is completed and they will honor the service call to address the defect.
