A white substance appeared on the outside brick of my chimney. Dan identified it as efflorescence, inspected the chimney, and recommended capping it. The service delivery was prompt, orderly, clean.

I can't be sure of the quality of the work for a few years, though if my previous experience with Dan is indicative, I expect it will hold up well.

Dan's company previously replaced the parging on my home. That work was well done, and has stood up, so I went to him for this chimney repair.

From their initial prompt response to our service request to job completion, Hatten Masonry acted in a very professional manner. They did exactly what they said they would do, when they said they would. They needed access to our neighbour's property in order to work on that side of our house and those neighbours reported HM were couteous, respectful and did a thorough job of cleaning up. We're very satisfied with the service provided.

We used Hatten Masonry to repair our chimney. Over the winter bricks began to fall off the chimney due to age and weather. Dan and team fit us in as soon as he could which we really appreciated. The team came and they were very professional. Tarps were put down under the scaffolding and they did a great job cleaning the property after they were done. The work they did was very thorough. They replaced the broken bricks and did extra grout repair in areas that were beginning to erode as well giving us some extra piece of mind.

Hatten Masonry did a wonderful replacing several rows of chimney brick, top cap and parging of two concrete sills, garage door columns.

Dan, rebuilt our chimney approx 4-5 courses from the
top. Included a new cap and crown. Flue liner was arranged
as necessary. Fire caulking between masonry crown
and flue liner. New caulking around existing flashing as
required.
Dan also tuck pointed the remaining mortar joints from roofline
up.
Dan also re tucked the bases for the posts of the garage doors.
Dan was here first thing in the morning and has done a excellent job. I would recommend him to anyone who requires any work done to there chimney.

Dan came back on the precise day that he committed to, the price was exactly the same as the quote, and the work was extremely well done.

In fact, Dan's team was so neat I didn't even notice they had been there until one of my neighbours pointed it out.

Prior owners had improperly installed concrete patio which lead to improper drainage of bricks through weeping holes. Water damage from behind the brick was causing the bricks to disintegrate. Dan replaced the bottom 2 rows of bricks around the entire house and ensured proper drainage to prevent it from recurring. Job was done quickly and very wellwe are happy with the results.

We had two damaged sections on either side of our front door. The bricks were really deteriorated and needed replacing. The bricks are discontinued and we worried about how to match them. Dan worked his magic and took the bricks needed from the back of the garage and replaced them with something close. His work is fantastic! We were worried about mortar mismatch but he did an amazing job matching that too. Dan also replaced a couple of the windowsills and did an excellent job on them! We are so happy with the results and are getting more work in the spring. If you need brick work-Dan is your best option! He shows up when he says he will, sounds simple but these days, its rare.
