renovation for a house we moved in

questionable quality of renovation with lack of attention to details and cleanliness after completion. Piles of debris and dirt/dust left behind. Work was not even completed (only 25% of work completed on what was agreed upon when he decided that he has no time due to a lot of questionable reasons. Lack of proper communication with the new owner. Not showing for meetings when agreed upon. Former owner Danny left the house in despicable conditions after moving out, stains on the carpet, subpar caulking and grouting and woodwork, not cleaning after working and being in the house. Always coming with excuses and promises he would do what he was asked to, to eventually fail on all his promises. I would not recommend his services for other maybe that working on your shed or chicken coop...Also, his focus was mainly on getting money in advance and then halfway thru the job instead of aiming to complete the job to the expectations of the new owner and prove himself as a reliable renovator. He is not that at all and anyone that would engage his services should be concerned.

Approximate cost of services:
$10,000.00

Company Response

Hi Lene, we are terribly sorry that you were dissatisfied with the work. I would like all our followers to know how seriously we take our clients satisfaction.

In response to your concerns:

1)CLEANLINESS AND ATTENTION TO DETIAL: the property was viewed by you on over 4 occasions and prior to completion the property was visited by the listing agent, at which point photos and videos were sent to you demonstrating that the property was left cleaned, free of debris and garbage. Furthermore, all the agreed upon work was completed.

2)LACK OF COMMUNICATION: We have text messages and emails to demonstrate that you have been responded to in a timely manner. Considering that were able to attend the property prior to your possession on over 4 occasions, I don't see how that would be possible without prompt communication. Furthermore, every detail and progress was reviewed with you on several occasions. Of this we have evidence of your satisfaction.

3)NOT MEETING UP AT AGREED UPON TIMES: Prior to the closing of the property on Wednesday, you visited the property on Friday with a TV mount and numbers to install. If you were so dissatisfied with the work, why were you requesting more and more things to be done? Prior to that, you visited the property several times, never a missed appointment. Furthermore, we were supposed to meet on the Monday at 5pm and as you know (so does the rest of the world) Rogers communications were not working on Cellphones that day. I was at the property however you had left and there was no way for us to communicate due to the cellphones not being in service. And when the phone lines were back up, I contacted you. That was the only appointment missed by both of us unfortunately due to circumstances outside of our control

4)AGREED UPON WORK NOT COMPLETED: We discussed this part in detail and when the circumstances were explained to you, you agreed to wait until material could be sourced and I could come back. As you know (as does the rest of the world) construction materials are expensive and scarce. It will take days and in some cases weeks to get specialized material.
Warms Regards, Next Generation Renovation
