FOYER TILE REPLACEMENT

Needed to replace the tiles on a small landing while keeping intact the granite edging. Called/texted quite a few contractors and tile stores to get a quote and either was turned down or got no response (my thoughts are the job was too small). Andrew not only quickly responded but set a date for the work the very same week and that morning of was kind enough to let me know he was running a bit late.

While removing the old tiles and old mortar he showed me the poor condition of the wooden sub-floor and re-thought how to best achieve a solid surface for the new tiles that included putting down a solid slab of cement board and mortar both above and below to obtain a solid flat foundation. I was also nervous to keep the original granite strip intact without it being broken and chipped. Andrew took extra care when chipping out the old tiles with no damage to the granite. He also took great pains to level the new tile to the existing granite edge and quarter round. We also discussed the best color to match the new grout to the new tiles. All in all, I'm very pleased with the results and workmanship. Even the existing quarter round wasn't damaged in any way (so no extra work $$$ there was needed). Job was done efficiently, within budget, and with consideration.

Big fans!

Andrew is amazing! We've used him three times over many years for tiling and flooring jobs both small and large. He is thoughtful, honest, knowledgeable, flexible, highly responsive on follow up, and somehow simultaneously easy going and highly attentive to detail. We'd use him again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

Kitchen Tile

This is the second job Andrew did for me, and his work was excellent as usual. He was able to explain in simple terms the work required, as well as any fixes needed to be done to ensure the work would look great and last long.

He showed up on time, finished work ahead of schedule, and priced the project fairly. I have since recommended him to friends and they agree that his work is top notch.

Excellent Work

A sewer collapse just before the pandemic left us with big holes in our basement and washroom floor for almost 3 years. The job to repair all of this wasn't easy since none of the existing ceramic tile could be matched and the previous tile installation in the washroom wasn't straight. Andrew provided a lot of advice prior to job being started and we were well prepared when he arrived. Unfortunately, the non-straight tile work in the washroom wasn't known until Andrew attempted to install the replacement tile we had chosen that was just slightly too big. Andrew provided guidance on an alternative plan and we ended up running out to quickly purchase smaller tiles that could be cut to produce a double-row instead of a single-row and, frankly, we like the end result better. As well, Andrew had to level the giant hole in the main room floor with concrete to prepare it for having vinyl flooring installed. Andrew worked his magic to ensure that the flooring we purchased (that he thought was going to come up a bit short) was cut in a way that he barely had any left over after the job was done and he wouldn't have to come back. Andrew is a great guy, works clean, and is utterly professional. We'd definitely use him again and would have no hesitation recommending him to anyone else.

Kitchen Backsplash Installation

Andrew was very responsive to questions before being hired to install our glass subway tile kitchen backsplash. He showed up as scheduled and on time and worked throughout the day to install the tiles. He cleaned up before leaving and returned first thing the next day to grout and caulk. Tile work was meticulous with very tight cuts. I am a detail oriented person and you can tell Andrew cares about details. He was also very efficient and the job was done in a day and a half. Before leaving, he cleaned up again and was on his way. Would 100% hire again!

A fantastic government program that provides youth with a mentor ship program and skills in the trades. Following that he worked under a master tile setter from Russia, helping instilling in him the perfectionism of the trade. Since having started his business, all of his customers have seemed to want to extend their projects once he has started. It always seems to start with a kitchen and then they decide to add on their foyer or bathroom.
