Meehan Plastering & Drywall

After a lot of research and in-person interviews at my house I hired Gavin and his team to drywall, tape and mud my recently underpinned basement.

My requirements were not straightforward as the basement structure was heavily modified to be soundproofed (i.e. soundclips/furring channel, duct silencers, roxul safe'n'sound, etc.).

All the drywall contractors I interviewed either did not have the skills or interest to address my requirements. It was only until I met Gavin did I have the confidence to hire a drywall contractor as immediately he put me at ease on his approach, willingness to work around finicky requirements and moving timelines all at a more than fair price.

Gavin and his team carefully measured the space, prepped the floors to protect them and then installed the various types of drywall in the myriad of configurations that my soundproofing engineer had requested the sheets to be situated (i.e. double 5/8" drywall, green glue, soundproof caulking, soundproof drywall, moisture drywall, 1/2" drywall, waterfalled overlapped edges, etc.).

The drywall install was efficiently done over a few days and equally efficiently done was the taping and mudding.

Gavin throughout the process consulted with me when choices were to be made as he wanted to make sure I was happy with the outcome throughout.

I couldn't be happier with the final product as all the walls, bulkheads, ceiling, and corners are smooth and have crisp lines.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Meehan Plaster & Drywall to anyone. He is one of those contractors that is a pleasure to work with (which is quite rare these days having gutted my 1920s 3000 square foot home in 2018 and having worked with all trades...the majority of which do not take any pride in their workmanship and do a job that is of poor quality).
