curbs, walkway and patio

I was not happy at all. When providing the quote, she said all the right things about what they would do. When doing the job it was a different story. Tried to do it as cheaply as possible. They were not going to tamp down the stone because she did not want to rent a tamper. (even though I was told they would). She eventually charged me an extra $150 to tamp it down. They used thin plywood to make the forms so of course when the cement was poured the forms all bulged and some gave way. I had to cut some stakes and provide supports to stop a disaster, but the curbs are not straight. They used very thin mesh, and they did not lift the mesh into the cement. Two days after they left, I noticed a hairline crack in the curb near the patio. I asked her to come back and make another cut to stop the cracking. No response. Two days later, the crack was bigger. I called again. I ended up getting someone else to make the cut. She finally texted back to say someone would come out in a week to make the cut. I liked the guys doing the work. They did the best they could but if you wont provide the proper materials or equipment, there is only so much you can do. I would NOT use them again.

Approximate cost of services:
$400,000.00

Company Response

On the first meet I told client nick what could be done base on his needs. But, When Quote was given client nick refuses to pay taxes. Client nick also mention that if Tax were to be charge then he expected the amount of money back from my own pocket and on top of that! he asked for an extra discount on the work. This is what the concrete industry faces every day. Some customer like nick want quality but they don't want to pay for it, instead they want free labour, free use of tools and free materials. especially at this pandemic situation when supplies and materials had raised in price. So we end up working with what ever we could under this budget. We build lumber forms which we had it to fixed twice because they damaged it with the car. So right after he cut in pieces his Stakes and gave it to us without no one asking for it.
We are a very serious and committed company with our work, we always give exclusivity to our customers. Even though client nick didn't pay what was needed for this project, we did the best we could under the circumstances. besides, at this point, I as a boss Already gave approval to continue working. Genuinely I wanted it to help this client since he insisted with many calls and also because he said it was a gift for his son.
I apologize because it was my responsibility accepting such cheap deal I shouldn't agree.
