We hired Raj at Terracotta Construction Ltd. to do a shower repair in our master bathroom ensuite this summer (2023). The repair was one of necessity in that a disgusting smell was coming from our shower whenever the hot water was running. After several tradesmen tried to figure out the source of the problem it was finally determined that over time the shower membrane underneath the tiled shower floor had failed and moisture was getting into the lower corner of the shower sump. This led to a situation where hidden mold had built up behind the shower tiles, causing the smell. As a result, the entire shower had to be demolished, and the mold hidden behind the tiles removed. The shower sump, floor and walled areas were replaced with Dens-shield, Schluter board and waterproofing materials and then the shower was retiled with new tiles, shower doors, etc.
We had several contractors provide a quote on the job all of which were fairly consistent in price. Since we didnt have a personal recommendation to go on with any of the contractors, we instead had to select based on who impressed us the most. We chose Raj, not just because his quote was slightly less, but because his enthusiasm, professionalism and customer-service set him apart from the other contractors. It was clear from the start that Raj treats every client with respect and treats every project as important. He gave us an estimate of length of time for the project (which he actually beat) and he told us what was happening at every step of the process. He was also exceedingly patient with our questions. The subtrades he used for different parts of the project were hardworking, reliable and efficient. Raj (and all of the subcontractors) kept the workspace spotless. At the end of each workday, everything was swept up and tidy. The finished project was a beautiful new (and odourless) shower which was consistent with the price he quoted. Given the quality of Rajs work and his professionalism throughout the entire project, we would highly recommend Raj for any house renovation. We were so pleased with his services that we intend to hire him again when our aging roof needs to be replaced in a few years.
