I am forever grateful that Sam from Amista Homes reached out when I initially submitted a service request at Homestar. Four years ago, I bought a bungalow with plans to convert it into a two-story home, moving my parents to the main floor and my kids and myself to the second. After struggling with my previous contractor for three years and getting nowhere, Sam stepped in last September, and now my home is 90% complete! Ive officially moved into the second floor, and the entire process has been smooth, fast, and truly amazing thanks to Sam and his team. Together, we handled everything from designing and permits to Committee of Adjustment approval, framing, stone and stucco, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, flooring, and tiling. The result is a 3,300 sq ft duplex, where the main floor features a large open-concept kitchen, living room, and dining area with two bedrooms and a fully accessible bathroom with a powder room customized for my parents. The second floor is designed for my family with an open-concept kitchen, living room, and three bedrooms plus a den with three full bathrooms. The two master bedrooms have walk-in closets and ensuite bathrooms. I ended up getting everything I wanted and more. While the neighbors were initially unhappy, Sam handled everything professionally and made sure they understood the situation. The timing of the work was perfect for each team, and Sam remained very involved every step of the way. He worked closely with me while ensuring we stayed within a very tight budget. Were nearing the finish line of the original plan, and I couldnt be happier. I now have my dream home within budget. Thank you, Sam youve truly been a lifesaver! After finding a leak in our house, we had our roof shingles and flat roof fully replaced, plus all new fascia, eaves, gutters. After a few surprises, the flat roof needed need new sheathing over the deck board and we added installation as well. It was handled without fuss or concern, and all the new details were explained clearly. Everything was done with detail and care. All materials were as promised. Everything was cleaned after each day. The project was completed on time as promised. On a personal note Kylie and the team were incredibly accommodating, responsive and truly made us feel like we were in good hands. We trusted the team and the work. Here is why we won't go anywhere else from now on: - The SOW was competitive in price AND included fixtures and materials (tile, vanities, faucets, flooring, etc...). - The project was on-budget and finished slightly ahead of schedule. - The quality work is exceptional, and was even assessed by our trade-trained family (plumbers & electricians). - The work was guaranteed against extra costs from unexpected issues often associated with updating 100 year old homes. For years, I had been wanting to finish my basement. I had a serious leak in out roof that turned out to require a full replacement, and I couldn’t be happier with the service I received. From the moment they came out to inspect the damage, they were honest, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable. The team walked me through the issues, gave me a clear and fair quote, and then got to work quickly. Not only did they replace the entire roof with great attention to detail, but they also went above and beyond by addressing a few other issues they discovered—at no extra cost.
