I hired JAD Contracting in October 2020 to build a decoupled wall in order to reduce the impact noise, specifically footsteps, the sound of people walking or running in the adjoining semi detached house. They put up mass loaded vinyl and wood strips on the original wall and put up a fiberboard wall glued to the wood strips on the original wall. They assured me that this would help me with the problem I was dealing with. But the noise level was the exact same afterwards, there wasn't even a 5db reduction in noise. They charged me 2000 dollars plus tax and I got no results in terms of noise reduction in the end
