As a pet owner, I was particularly concerned about the loud jackhammering noise that would accompany the renovation of my apartment balconies. My tiny dog, whom I affectionately call baby, is sensitive to such disturbances.

Your dedication and commitment to helping me create a soundproof doghouse for my furry companion went above and beyond my expectations. Not only did you personally visit your showroom on your day off, but you also generously supplied all the necessary materials at no cost. Your selflessness and willingness to assist, especially when you learned it was for my dog, touched me deeply.

Extremely happy with the results and the look and design of the panels installed in my apartment on February 06, 2023. Amazing service with the installation which took about 5 hours to complete. Highly recommend if you are having trouble with noise in you apartment building.

Dreams to come true! I waited to write this review because I very much wanted it to feel
the results. We have been suffering from severe impact & airborne noise due to squeaky floors and noisy tenants above us.

What Jake and his team achieved genuinely felt like the impossible, and I still can’t believe the success we have had.

As we all know, soundproofing is not cheap. I interviewed several companies before moving forward; pricing here was most competitive— but it was Jakes's genuine compassion towards the issue of my 7-year-old son developing anxiety and the extra effort he and his team put forward to ensure results. Now, my son is sleeping safe and sounds, and his room was left it even better aesthetic condition then before. Jake delivered extensive knowledge & expertise, along with a hard-working & delightful team! I am forever grateful. Thank you, JAD!!

The team was great, efficient, polite, the work was done as promised and it looks very good. High quality work for both the wall and the painting. I would definitely recommend JAD for your drywall and soundproof job and would use them again.

I hired JAD Contracting in October 2020 to build a decoupled wall in order to reduce the impact noise, specifically footsteps, the sound of people walking or running in the adjoining semi detached house. They put up mass loaded vinyl and wood strips on the original wall and put up a fiberboard wall glued to the wood strips on the original wall. They assured me that this would help me with the problem I was dealing with. But the noise level was the exact same afterwards, there wasn't even a 5db reduction in noise. They charged me 2000 dollars plus tax and I got no results in terms of noise reduction in the end

Jake from JAD Soundproofing was very accommodating and patience because I changed the plan a few times. At the end, they did a fantastic job soundproofing my condo ceiling recently. The result is significant. About 80 - 90% of the footfall from heavy upstairs neighbours has been dampened. Peace again! The new dividing wall created a new second bedroom for me. Their work is fast and clean. Their drywalling is professional, quality job. The painting could be improved with better management of time. The new walls were not primed as perfectly as the new ceilings. I would still recommend Jake.

Simply put, JAD is a contractor who uses drywall and other soundproofing materials to soundproof, nothing more. He's not a sound engineer so go spend your specialist dollars elsewhere or have a MUCH cheaper contractor buy the same materials. I could not agree more with the 0* ratings. He does not deliver! Perhaps JAD soundproofing works for some people's noises but it DOES NOT WORK for babies crying and for footsteps. DO NOT HIRE him without having a sound engineer come first because, wait for it, the $15,000 I spent did not include it. He's a contractor, nothing more, I could've had my neighbour do this for half the cost and still get no results. Jake has no idea how to address different frequencies, he simply adds layers of drywall to the walls. Talk about applying a Band-Aid to the problem! Do not let him tell you it will work. Jake also loves to pass the blame, he won't listen, he even told his contractors in front of me that one of my concerns was not important. I'm pregnant and my young daughter and I were relegated to live in the basement for almost 2 weeks instead of also having our main floor to enjoy simply because his contractors did not cover the upstairs as promised and the entire main floor was covered in drywall dust. Who does that to a family?! Jake loves to get caught up in the semantics of wording, saying that their services did reduce noise (not the issues I have of course), that he does effectively communicate your needs to his contractors, and much more, but it couldn't be further from the truth. The emotional distress that he has added to this pregnant single mother cannot be measured. The cherry on top? He charged my credit card before knowing if the soundproofing worked and now is saying I must be hearing the noises from the ceiling, hallway, and elsewhere when the baby crying is literally in the bedroom, on the other side of my wall. He REFUSES to fix the problem, or even send an engineer at $450 to assist. How cheap can someone be when they haven't delivered a service! Please please do your diligence, hire an engineer, get another contractor to do the job and absolutely, if you're dealing with high frequencies like babies crying or low frequencies, like footsteps, DO NOT PAY FOR JAD SOUNDPROOFING. Anyone else has $15,000 they want to pour down the drain?

We hired JAD Contracting to do our basement and main level. The owner, misrepresented that he was experienced in indoor renovations. The project manager and crew are from from professional or experienced. The work they did contain numerous deficienicies and the workmanship was substandard. The painter they had on site could not care less about the quality of his work and to call him a painter would be an insult to any semi-competent painter. The Project manager did not even know how to put in a potlight! They did not attend every day and took other side jobs saying they were pressured to get those jobs done. It has been very unpleasant and stressful to work with these guys.

Our property was damaged and we had to spend thousands of dollars to rectify the deficiencies by hiring a replacement contractor, which caused further delays. The owner misrepresented facts and his word cannot be relied on. STAY AWAY!!!

After calling JAD for a quote (in June '09), we received a prompt call back and a consultant apptmt within 2 days. Everything ran smoothly: the 2 contractors arrived promply at 8am and worked until just past 5pm every night; the contractors were clean, courteous; considering the mess of the job, they laid cardboard and protective sheets everywhere and covering all doorways; the overall workmanship was excellent. There are several 'classes' of finishing that you can request - we chose the best and thus, received the best. Very pleased with the workmanship and most of all, the service. Thank you - definitly would use again!
