I had a big job - replace my old flat roof, shingles, downspouts and skylights. I contacted 10 companies, and five responded quickly. I chose Better Contracting Services because their estimate was competitive, their advice practical and were established with decades of experience and a solid reputation. And, yes, it helps that they are recommended by Mike Holmes, so I felt confident with my decision. The crew of five arrived on time and were always masked, professional, polite and neat. They worked well together, cleaned up throughout the day, and even placed huge, long tarps between my house and the neighbours to catch nails and debris. Although the new roof leaked two weeks after installation :( within 12 hours of my call (e.g. I called at 9 p.m. and by 9 a.m. the next morning), the crew was back to assess the problem (small leak around new bathroom vent). Not only did they take responsibility, they apologized and fixed it immediately. Within a few days, the damaged ceiling and insulation were replaced, then painted up. As well, just when I was about to email them about the warranties, it was emailed to me. Several neighbours watched the crew work on my house and were impressed by their team work and efficiency. So much so, a few are considering getting quotes from them for their next project. I would highly recommend hiring Better Contracting Services.
