Very expensive to find a leak. $495 for about half an hour. Their flat rate pricing system works great for them and very badly for you. Find a plumber who will charge you by the hour.

I paid for the removal of a tree and stump removal. A few years later I was doing some renovation work and we discovered that the stump had not even been close to removed properly. The contract was to remove the stump down ten inches. Please look at the photo and judge for yourself whether this stump was properly removed. It sure does not look like they have removed it to ten inches to me. You be the judge. I called the company. Mike came out. Said I needed to pay him more money to remove the stump. He denied he had done anything wrong. Apparently when you contract to remove a stump with them you are not really contracting to remove the stump. I would be happy to amend this review if the company would come out and honor the deal we had. Picture of stump and invoice attached.

Matt did a great job of replacing the staircase to my back deck. The deck is not exactly level, so it was a challenging job. Nice job, built to last.

We have used Steven at Rockwell Masonry for a number of jobs. First, he installed stone around our upstairs fireplace. Second, he fixed some brickwork on our home, very creatively taking old brick from the chimney and replacing all the bricks on the chimney in a fashion that allowed us to make repairs to the front of our house when similarly faded and old brick was not available. The minor difference in color on the chimney is not noticeable given its distance from the other brick - great thinking Steven! Most recently, Steven did brick work around a gas fireplace in our basement. So we have had lots of experience with Steven. Steven is professional, courteous, creative and excellent tradesmen. You would be hard pressed to find a better mason. Hire him with confidence.

Custom Lawn Sprinklers installed a Hunter Pro C system for me two or three years ago. The guys who installed it did not dig deep enough. As a result, I have had numerous shovels, etc. go through it because just planting my vegetable garden was enough to hit the lines, they were only inches below the ground. When I brought this to their attention, I was told it was not their problem because the family had bought the business from Dieter, Dieter did the lousy work so not their problem. Absolute crap. I stuck with them anyway, a big mistake. Last year, when they closed my system, they failed to drain the water out of the fertilization system. The person who closed my system did not drain it and then put it in my pool shed. During the winter, the water froze and destroyed the system which is worth about $800. They have refused to even call me back, let alone take responsibility. Terrible company, stay away.

We undertook major interior renovations to our home in 2010/2011 and completed the project in 2012/2013. Both times, we asked Felicia of The Expert Touch to provide us with advice regarding colours, floors, wall coverings, kitchen design, etc. Both times, we have been extremely pleased with the results. These decisions would have taken us forever and we probably would have made a couple of errors. With Felicia, we had the information we required within a couple of hours for a reasonable price. Well worth her fee!

I bought a sprinkler system in Fall 2011 from this company. Next spring I had a lot of problems. Basically told me that they had bought the company from the previous owner Dietrich and that they were not responsible for his work. This is crap as when you buy a corporation you inherit any liabilities and guarantees. The lines are buried too shallow and hence constantly get cut. The area coverage was poor and many of my hedges died. I had them out to fix the hedge problem. They put in a soaker line and I paid for that. It did not work so I paid again to have new heads put on that will spray my hedges more. Just discovered another dying hedge this morning. Called them up and left a message. No response. No doubt when they do get around to calling me they will want yet more money. They are always very nice but I think they should tweak the system as needed for the first couple of years without taking you to the cleaners each time. Basically they installed a system that was too shallow and did not cover the areas properly. They continue to demand money to fix every problem. My advice is that if you are buying this type of system watch them every minute when they are installing it. Make sure they bury the lines deep. Make sure the system covers every area, do not trust anyone to do this for you.

I have used Justin's painting services on a number of interior and exterior painting jobs. He has painted all rooms in both floors of our house except the kitchens and bathrooms. He has also painted our front door and garage doors and stained our deck and fences. All work has been done in a thoroughly professional manner. Very flexible in terms of timing. He worked around our floor finishers exceptionally well, coming in evenings where necessary. All in all one of the best contractors I know and I have employed many. And I am fussy as hell. Exceptional work on the trim. He makes great suggestions. He painted the interior panels of our doors upstairs the same colour as the walls. Looked fantastic. Rates are reasonable. Likes to use good quality paint, which doesn't really add to the cost because it saves labour time. You may find someone cheaper, but his quality to price ratio is great, so spend a little extra and get a paint job that looks great and lasts.
