I purchased a brand new air conditioner (Carrier) from this company in May 2012. It is July 2013 and the air conditioner has had to be repaired 5 times. It is currently not working for the 6th time and I am being told that they can't come and fix it for 4 business days (we are in the middle of a heat wave and I have an infant).

Hello Melanie,

We are very sorry to hear about the problems you have been having with your Air Conditioner and would like to take this time to solve it properly so you will not have to go through intermittent periods of no cooling when you need it most. It is not normal for an A/C to break down 6 times within the first year or so and that is something that concerns us greatly.

We have been looking through our records and cannot find anybody by the name Melanie L who bought a Carrier unit last May. During the past year, we have noticed a greater than normal incidence in cases where Carrier indoor coils have been affected by Formicary corrosion. If your coil is what needs replacing, we will be happy to replace the coil under the manufacturer’s warranty terms. Parts like coils are usually covered for minimum 5 years so we should be able to get a replacement part at no cost to you.
We obtain these units from the manufacturer and it is our expectation that they will work for a very long time and that they are flawless but every once in a while there are defects that come from the factory – and whereas we are hardly at fault for these defects, we do our best to take care of these issues when they do arise.
