First off, the job was completed, the price did not change, my house is safe and now functional. All these things I am grateful for. And my house was a tough job, no doubt. The lack of "expert" decisions made ie. drilling through mouldings, door frames, light fixtures etc. and the overall poor management of the job I did not like. I didn't see workmanship that showed experience. Also being pushy for full payment before the job is complete or inspection finished (which failed the first time) was also a downer. The cost was the highest of my three quotes and I do not feel I received the quality for the cost. I would not recommend Toronto Electrical "Experts"

Hi Joe -

We always welcome feedback from our customers.

There is no question that your house was indeed a tough job and we stand behind our workmanship. As we made you aware at the time of completion, in addition to the work that we quoted and for which you ultimately paid for, we did additional work, valued at approximately $2500.00 for you at no cost, in order to ensure that your home was completely safe.

We would like to address the issues that you have raised individually. We did not see any moulding that had been drilled through, nor did you bring any such issue to our attention on site. Had you done so, we most certainly would have made a repair, had we incurred such damage. Our Master Electrician pointed out to you a piece of baseboard on the bottom of the door trim that had been drilled through. When asked if that was pre-existing, your response was that you didn't know. Had you believed that we caused that damage, and that it was not the result of other trades that you had in the house, you only needed to say so and we would have made the repair. Yes, we did drill into a light fixture in the ceiling while using a 6 foot drill bit that was required for the job. Our Master Electrician immediately brought this to your attention and apologized profusely, and you responded that it wasn't a big deal because you were going to get rid of it.

In terms of payment, our payment schedule for a job of this magnitude, as is the case for most trades, is to receive a deposit of 50% upon signing the contract, a progress payment, usually 50% of the outstanding balance during the job and the final balance upon our completion of the work. Not upon inspection. This was the schedule that we adhered to. And as we did point out to you, the initial inspection failed only because of a defective arc fault breaker that our supplier gave us in error, as it had been marked for recall.

You wanted this job completed quickly and to facilitate this, we worked right through the weekend, without charging a premium, in order to finish your house within the time frame that you pushed for.

Again, we do stand behind our work and while you did not raise any concerns about deficiencies at the time of completion, if there are any such issues, we would be more than happy to return and make any necessary alterations. Please contact our office in order to address any such issues and we will schedule a time to return.

Hey J. Thank you for taking the time to write us an excellent review! Your home was definitely quite unique and we had our challenges with it. I am glad you understand that I will not compromise the safety of the gas line just to complete the job and were willing to work together to come up with a safe solution and a proper install! Thanks again and best of luck with the kitchen!!!
