We met Clark who is the owner of Hickory Dickory Decks in Markham back in May this year. He is young and passionate. First year in this business. Our project was basically his first ever big one. He is the owner but not the builder. But he guaranteed to us that his builder does beautiful jobs. At the beginning we were not sure if he was the right person. We felt like we were taking a risk. We basically just trust in our feeling about him as he seemed very genuine to us. It turned out that Clark was a super professional person and he worked very hard to make sure we were satisfied. He worked till 2am to revise his design blueprint so he could email it to us on Saturday morning. He texted us almost every single day to update the status. He also tried his best to get us a very deal on better quality lumbers when the ones we ordered was out of stock. Also his builder Rod was a gem in carpentry. He is very detailed oriented, cautious and careful. He did a fantastic job on framing and stairs, which are the most important two things in building decks! Still Clark came to our backyard every single day to check the work and make sure the materials delivered right in time for building. Our deck is huge. It fits a 8-ppl dining set, a swing with screen door plus a conversational patio set! And it was done in three weeks with every single detail being taken care of. At the end Clark came in to clean our deck and did a bunch of things that he didn't have to, such as fixing our hose, cleaning our fence and etc. He is really passionate about what he does. We took a risk to hire him but thanks to Lord it was probably the best choice we've ever made in our home. To anyone who wants to have a deck in your backyard. Please don't go cheap to build a pressure treated one and still spend thousands of dollars! Go with the composite and you'll never regret. Hickory Dickory Deck is definitely the best deck company if you're willing to invest in your backyard.
