Thanksgiving monday and my dishwasher dies?! A 2 y.o. Bosch no longer under warranty just quit on me. This is the third time I've called Atiar (unrelated issues) and he comes through everytime. I called him this morning, and by 1:30, his man Amar was here. Everything fixed in under an hour, no parts required. Thanks again, guys!

From start to finish, this company provided prompt, courteous and friendly attention. Office manager Kimberly was very helpful on the phone with paint suggestions and reasonably accurate project estimates. Warren, the painter, made sure he knew exactly what we needed and completed every detail with care and integrity. This guy cuts edges and trim cleaner and faster than I can do with tape! He was on time for each of the three days and worked right to the end, with only brief breaks, and cleaned up everything at the end. Each day, he told me what he could accomplish that day and what his strategy would be. The office followed up the next day to make sure everything was to my satisfaction, which it certainly was.

My frames were done right on the day they told me. Quality of the job was great from the corners to the mat. The price was fair. I would use again.

I purchased 2 deals through Living Social for art framing services at Artcreations.com (aka... "Picture Perfect" in Concord, Ontario). I took 2 original art pieces to this place for framing. At first, I noticed that their limited selection of frames and mats, and the owners arguing over how to do the job properly, probably meant they were either new in this business, or not very serious about this line of work. I was a bit nervous leaving my art with them, but I had to use my deal before it expired and thought maybe it would be good to support an underdog business with my money. When I picked up the art, one piece, a 17" square charcoal rubbing, was not protected by glass in the frame, as we discussed in the quote. I checked the invoice to see if it had been itemized - it hadn't so I let the issue go. But I did notice that the work was not even centered in the frame. We talked about a 2" border. The receipt SAYS 2" border. Instead, It's 2" on the left and 3" on the right and 2.5" on top and bottom. When I asked the owner, Errol, if he thought it was centered, he said "what do you mean?" I could tell he was being impertinent so I asked him again. "Well... I guess the border is wider on the right..." I said - that's what I mean. He then tried to dismiss the issue by saying what a wonderful framing job it was and how lucky I'd been and I was making a mountain out of a molehill. Apparently I was also being disrespectful when I asked them to take responsibility for the error. I thought that was in my right after spending $100 on a botched framing job. This is my first experience with a deal from Living Social, and it has been a sour one, I'm sorry to say. Not having seen any reviews on this company, I probably should have given them some cheap posters to frame instead, and taken my art to Ken's Framing down the street. I

What could this company do to improve their services?
-Respect customers and make good on agreements. -Don't treat customers with online deals as second class
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Try Ken's Framing, or one of the places near Orfus Road that have been around for a while.

Dennis is a master and he explains things in a very clear and logical way. His colleague Terry looks at things a different way and between the two of them, they find the most effective and least invasive way to solve each problem. I'm very happy with Terry's work. He plowed through the list of tasks, hardly taking a break. His problem-solving skills, experience and determination were evident in the way he tackled the 3-way on the outside wall and the mystery of the dead wiring to the back of the house. It was a long day and I know his family were waiting to see him, but he never complained and he got it all done. I won't hesitate to use this company's services again and recommend them to my friends and family.

Santo is a master. He is an artist with sheet metal. He has some pretty talented young guys who work with him, but even after a very long day of meticulous furnace installation and task delegation, he does a walk around. Anything he sees that is below his standard, as sharp edge, a piece of pipe insufficiently anchored, he touches up. It's a joy to see someone who cares so much about the job he's doing and it represents his company. I'd had quotes from a handful of other companies before choosing this one. Northwood's sales rep Michael was patient and reasonably knowledgeable. I'm slightly disappointed that he felt he needed to upsell me a new humidifier because mine was outdated. In getting other quotes, I learned that this was not true; even the installation crew thought it was working fine. Nevertheless, Mike was prompt with answering messages and questions. His quote was not the cheapest I'd had, even for the specific product, but he answered my questions in detail and was willing to try different options. The installation took 2 days for the Furnace and air conditioner and at times there were as many as 8 people working on the job, coming and going, communicating and sharing the load. This was back in January. Now that I've had the chance to try out my new York furnace and my Air Conditioner and am completely happy with both, I am happy to recommend this company.
