We had previously used Manotick for a tree removal, so when we had another stump to be removed they were our first call. They were able to complete the stump removal quickly, and did a fantastic job. The entire process took less than 2 hours. They left the site in perfect condition, and aside from the big patch of dirt left in the stump hole, you would never know they were there. Thank you for the excellent work!

We had used The One to repair our roof following a 2018 spring wind storm. I was incredibly impressed with his work and professionalism, so when our sunroom shingles started to curl, we gave Michel a call. He came by and provided a reasonable quote for shingle replacement, and updating the vent. The work was completed as scheduled, Michel did a fantastic job updating me with what was completed, and cleaning up after the job was complete. The work looks fantastic, as expected. I appreciated that he hand nails the shingles instead of using an air gun. I will be calling Michel again when the main roof on our house needs to be replaced in a few years. I emailed The One Roofing the day after a big windstorm tore off a section of shingles from my roof. Michel responded quickly, and was able to come out 2 days later to address the repairs. Having to wait two days was not a big issue because all roofing companies were swamped with calls at the time and Michel completed the repairs before I ever heard from any other company. The work completed was exemplary! Michel went up on the roof and evaluated the condition of the shingles, and came down to explain how extensive the damage was, what work he would do to fix the issue, how long it would take him, and the cost. Michel completed the repairs in the time estimated and for the cost agreed to. I was extremely impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. Michel easily communicated what had been completed after the repair. I will be using The One roofing for another separate section of the roof that needs to be repaired this fall. We initially hired Ring Electric back in October 2016 to address an electrical issue in our new house (open grounded outlets). Bryan was quick to respond to our initial inquiry email, and a service appointment was booked for only a couple days later. Bryan arrived and after I had explained the issue he found and fixed the problem within an hour. Needless to say we were extremely impressed! Bryan was very personable, and his vast knowledgable was very evident. When we needed to have a number of switches, dimmers changed we called Ring Electric once again. They were quick to respond to our email, and book the work. Bryan was also good about clarifying the scope of work as we added a few switches to the initial quote. I cannot remember of the names of the employees who completed the work, but they were FANTASTIC. They arrived on time (in spite of an icy winter day) were extremely personable, and highly competent. They changed 7 switches, and installed a ceiling fixture quickly and efficiently, and they did a great job cleaning up when the job was complete. I have complete confidence in making recommendations to friends and family for any electrical work. I know we will not hesitate to call Ring Electric again if any further electrical work needs to be completed!

We hired A Cut Above for a project in August 2016. The work completed was done well, however it started a day late (due to Clayton chipping his tooth the morning the job was scheduled to begin - we understood this delay). In spite of the unavoidable delay, we hired them (on Sept 28) to complete an additional project at our home, contracted to begin December 6. Unfortunately, we were informed BY EMAIL, a mere 24 hours prior to the start of the project, that our job was being cancelled, and could be rescheduled at our “preferred month” and that they would “do their absolute best to accommodate” our request. What is worse is that we received a confirmation of start date 18 hours prior to the cancellation email! Upon phoning Clayton to figure out why our job was not being pushed back a mere day or two – but would be delayed until at least January. Upon further inquiry I was told “they were not required to discuss their scheduling”, but we ultimately learned the following: - Their current contract was running a day behind (due to other trades) - The large commercial contract that was scheduled to begin after our job, was going to start on time because it “could not be delayed”. - Our job was therefore cancelled, and would be rebooked in our “preferred month”. No alternative timelines were suggested or provided in the cancellation email. We were left feeling like our small $700 project was being sacrificed to keep two bigger projects on schedule, regardless of the vacation time we had needlessly booked to oversee the work. After a lengthy, and at times a heated discussion with Clayton, he called us back and offered to complete our project a few days later on a Saturday. While we appreciated the offer to work through their weekend, we no longer have any confidence that they would actually arrive at the agreed upon date and time. The workmanship of A Cut Above’s is good, however dependability has been an issue for us. We ultimately could not depend on the work beginning at the agreed upon date and time. We have therefore decided to take our cancelled contract, and all subsequent work to a competitor, who has subsequently completed the work beautifully!

Manotick Tree Movers was incredibly professional from start to finish. The original quote was complete, and the arborist who did the quote was very competent and professional. Tree removal occurred on schedule, and a 30 foot fir tree was removed within 45 minutes, and if I had not watched them fall the tree, I would not have known a tree was in the yard. They returned one week later to grind the 2 stumps after they had ordered and received the utility locates. Once again the worksite was left impeccable. No wood chips were left on the grass, the holes were backfilled with black earth and tamped down. Extremely impressed from start to finish. I have already made many recommendations to friends and family, and will use Manotick Tree Movers for all future arborist work at our new house!

Met with John to discuss the option of purchasing and installing a central vac in our new house (existing construction). John recommended a fantastic unit (and he did not try to up sell us). We ended up going with the higher end Canavac. The installer was FANTASTIC, he installed 3 ports in the walls with no damage. Everything has been working perfectly for 4 months now. We were so impressed with John we returned to purchase a carpet cleaner. Fantastic customer service, excellent prices, and their knowledge is second to none!

Hired Stonehenge do remove 2 old brick window sills and replace them with Arriscraft sills. They did a great job installing the new sills, one small issue is that the one sill was supposed to be 2 full length sills, and they installed three sills instead. No explanation for this change was provided, but not a huge issue. They did a great job cleaning up the worksite, which was greatly appreciated.

Excellent service all around! Had a quick in home free estimate on tuesday, and the water heater was installed Friday morning. Carleton called to inform when the crew would be arriving, the crew showed up on time, were extremely friendly, and did some great work. They left the mechanical room in pretty great shape, just a few pieces of scrap were left behind, but not a big deal at all! I would recommend them to my family, and will use them for any further HVAC work in our new house.
