Scott and team helped us with a bathroom renovation in 2022. We had previously used them for multiple different projects over the years, and are happy repeat customers. The choice of contractor for this project was obvious, given the pleasant experiences weve had in the past with Scott & team. As always, attention to detail, quality workmanship and honesty are hallmarks of the WCBD team. Scott is always willing to listen & provide straightforward advice. As always, highly recommend the team for any project, large or small - you will not be disappointed!

Where to begin - we had worked with Scott and Laurie in 2017 on a mostly exterior renovation/refacing with some interior components and were very pleased with the workmanship, honesty, attention to detail and finished product. We decided in fall 2020 to renovate a totally unfinished basement for our growing family, and Scott and team were really our only choice given our past experience. That job concluded in early 2021 and by that time, we'd decided to pull forward a much larger complete kitchen renovation to move seamlessly from one project to the next. That job involved moving the kitchen down a level (old backsplit house), knocking down walls, adding a steel beam, reworking plumbing and electrical, creating a mudroom with direct entry to our garage, etc - effectively soup-to-nuts rethink of our main living space. In short, we are thrilled with our new space. Scott, Jay and Brandon worked tirelessly over months to make sure all the details were right. They put up with my & my wife's neuroses and were always willing to explain & re-explain the process, the options etc. They demonstrated great patience given how particular we were about certain elements. All three added value with creative ideas along the way and always made sure we were happy with both process & outcome. Things that stand out - Scott working tirelessly on a complex hidden door to a coldroom that doubles as a bookshelf (Jay's idea!) - it is a very cool feature. Jay and Brandon efforts to re-work/re-enforce some old floor joists framing to accommodate my wife's legacy concern about its stability, Jay & Brandon working to solve a few totally unrelated problems (ie a leaky basement window due to a bad window well) to what they were there to do etc.. Frankly there are many instances (too many to type out) where they went above and beyond. Quality workmanship, quality people - if I had to sum it up more succintly. Scott's subcontractors - demo, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen design/build were all high quality, approachable and helpful throughout the process. We were informed of all key decisions and asked questions at the right times - a trait I've found is not actually common in the business. They all treated our house with respect and always made sure they addressed any minor questions/concerns we had, really about anything at all. We have complete trust in Scott and team, and obviously recommend them to anyone. We wouldn't have wanted to work with anyone else for this job, and are very glad we picked Scott & team to re-imagine our house. We look forward to working again with them in the future (if they'll put up with us!) as we have a couple smaller jobs left to tackle!

Dave & team did a large-scale stone refacing for us 2017, and we are still very satisfied with the result. We had some light mortar cracking over the last couple years, which was recently addressed by Rhett - who was very cordial, courteous and took time to explain the gameplan (ie tuckpoint repair). The finished product again looks great. We appreciate the continued service & follow-up.

We hired William in summer of 2019 to complete a long-awaited refacing project that began with the front of the house (stone) and the side (stucco). William was very attentive to detail in the initial meeting and quote, which was received in a timely manner. He inspired confidence throughout that entire process. The job itself was executed on time and budget, and William and team were accommodative to a couple of curveballs along the way (carpenter ant issue + late decision to re-insulate from the outside with Rock Wool). William also provided us with contacts for additional work on replacing soffits and eaves, who we ended up using as well. We are very happy with the job after a year, and William has even been kind enough to help remediate & repair some minor damage that was caused post-hoc by another contractor (repaired within a couple days of reaching out - impressive!). Fully recommend the Exterior by Design team.

Moise built us a new fireplace mantel & feature wall, and we're very happy with the end result. Throughout the entire process, Moise was very helpful with his thoughts on our options, and his attention to detail. Moise pointed us in the direction of the Toronto Comfort Zone, who handled the installation of the new gas fireplace and demolition of existing wood-burning fireplace/structure. Moise provided us with a very clear drawing & outline of what the mantel would look like, which was appreciated. He took the time for multiple visits and was always willing to discuss. He was very knowledgeable, and clearly understood the style, design and vision we wanted both for the mantel and the house at-large. He and Cara make a great team. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moise, and hope to be able to work with him again in the future.

We used Encore Windows for a soundproofing project in concert with the exterior refacing of our house. One of the core elements of the project was reducing street noise, which was substantial. Anthony was helpful throughout the entire planning process, and was always willing to talk through options and provide advice. The Encore team is clearly knowledgeable about sound reduction. We added BQuiet windows to 2 bedrooms and the main floor. The "casual" street noise from cars is completely eliminated. We do still here muted bus noises, and of course all the people who have decided their value-add to this world is to remove their mufflers on their cars and motorcycles. Overall, I'd ballpark it at an all-in reduction of 75-85% of noise - a substantial improvement. The BQuiet windows definitely make a significant difference, while blending in very well with the interior. The Exterior windows are very sharp. Overall, we're very pleased with the windows themselves. The folks handling some other interior soundproofing work (insulation, creation of window openings etc) were very complimentary of George's expertise on installation day. We have additional windows to replace in the house, and will hopefully be able to work with Encore again. Thanks to Anthony and the Encore team for their help.

We recently worked with Scott/Laurie and team on a "house refacing" project that had a substantial interior component to it (which they handled), while the exterior stone work was handled by the Three Little Pigs. The aim of the project was to reduce street noise (we live on a busy street) and improve curb appeal of the house. We initially reached out to Scott after first contacting the Three Little Pigs, as the two have worked together in the past, and a cohesive, seamless process & approach was important to us. Scott and team created new window openings, added soundproofing insulation, thicker drywall, handled all the electrical, and helped with some additional non-stone related exterior work. Scott also directed us to the Designers for the drawings/building permit, and directed us to the company that provided an exterior railing, as well as the garage door. We were very pleased with the Will Construct by Design team throughout the project. Scott's team, including Oho, Jay, Chris, and Chris, amongst others, were extremely courteous, respectful, and genuine people. We felt very comfortable in their hands. They often took extra steps to rectify some minor "legacy" issues that were unexpectedly encountered, which was much appreciated. They completed the work quickly and efficiently, and we are very pleased with the end product. A first-rate job. Scott and Laurie are very responsive, and are always willing to take the time to discuss any issues which may arise. We always felt like we were getting an honest assessment and opinion. Overall, we're very happy with the execution of the project, which in totality (stone, windows, interior) came in essentially on-budget to what we were provided once the entire project scope had been defined. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Scott & Laurie, and hope to work with the team again on future projects.

We recently completed the entire refacing of the front of our house, which we had purchased a year ago. We found Dave and the Three Little Pigs on Homestars, and agreed to work with them as well as the folks at Will Construct by Design - as they'd worked together before and we wanted a smooth experience given how substantial the project was. Dave was helpful & responsive throughout the process, and as far as I can tell, the workmanship was/is excellent. He's got years of experience, and it's clear that he and the team know what they are doing. While we started the project later than anticipated (pinning the design was slower than hoped), the masonry once we began was very quick and efficient (aided by the unusually pleasant fall weather). We were very happy with how quickly the stone went up. Greg was extremely courteous, pleasant, and hardworking. The house itself looks excellent, and we're pleased with the outcome. This was a big project, and the Three Little Pigs were keen to take it on. Other firms either didn't show as much interest or weren't willing to commit the time or resources to secure the business. Every project has its misfires. We did have two miscommunications throughout the process, both of which could have been avoided with the benefit of clearer communication & attention to detail upfront. Both problems were ultimately rectified in various ways, one of them did end up resulting in additional material & labour costs (3% on total cost) vs what was quoted. The other was frankly more of a misfire on my part in terms of my understanding of the scope of one portion of the job. I give credit to Dave for being accessible, responsive and open to discussing options once the problems were identified. I think the outcomes with respect to each was broadly fair for both parties. Dave definitely made it a point to ensure that we were satisfied. At the end of the day, these things can happen, and its really the response to the problem that matters more than the problem itself. All-in-all, we're thrilled with our "new" house, and would gladly recommend the Three Little Pigs to anyone considering working with them. We have additional work that we need to do over the years, and they will be our first call. Thanks to Dave and the team for all their hard work!

We recently moved into a new house, with a flimsy, drafty old door that was letting in significant noise (busy street). We knew it had to be fixed quickly, and set about our diligence. We spoke to a few other companies, but we decided upon Ambia. They were very helpful during the quoting process with respect to the speed with which they turned it around (we had only found out about Ambia at the last-minute), willingness to explain the logistics & end-product, and price. Tony & Michael were helpful throughout the process, and responsive to questions we had. The installation went very smoothly, and we are very happy with the end product. We appreciated Michael stopping by during the installation process to ensure it ran smoothly. All-in-all, we're very happy with Ambia! Quality product at a reasonable price. If we had one regret, it was that we didn't reach out to them sooner & the manufacturer couldn't make the door more quickly. Our house is significantly less drafty and much less noisy - mission accomplished.

Had a fairly large paint job to do. The work was generally well done, on par with what we were expecting given the cost. We had a few small issues after the initial job that were dealt with in an follow-up appointment, which was well-executed. A particular shout-out to Peter & Eric, who were very courteous in the follow-up appointment, and willing to touch up certain areas and address any concerns we had. They are both very nice fellows, and I'd be more than willing to work with them again in the future.
